Uhhh... A Targa top made mostly of tinted glass. You installl a slide cover inside, for those privacy moments, slide it back to let the moon/sun through or just take it off fora topless drive.

I have always wanted a targa. The Fiat X1/9 or a Porsche 914... I don't like the noise level on converts, and also hate it when they run down the road and the top pulls up, they look like a bubble. The targa top is a lot more rigid when is on the car and I would think it seals as good or better than the soft top.

It's been discussed numerous times.

I think the closest person to ever doing it got an estimate around 6-7k.

Also say goodbye to some stability.

I'd love to see it done, I always wanted to do it when I had my Z.

Even a sun roof would be cool. The G35 has it why not the Z?

I agree. No storage issues like with a targa or t-top. There is an aftermarket sunroof available for the Z on the web somewhere...but I'm not sure I'd want a hole chopped in my car.

T-Top would probably be better enforced.

Just take all the frame reinforcements from the vert and apply them to the frame of the coupe, use the latches from another targa car such as a vette or supra. Cut the roof off, work the edges to ensure a good seal, apply the latches.....theres your targa top in short

Either would be nice, Targa or TTop. Personally, I would prefer TTops just because i was sporting an 85 Z31 Turbo for a while, and I loved the TTops. Targa would most likely look better. I wouldn't mind a sunroof either, but sometimes i look at the roof line of the Z when i am standing behind it, and i don't think i would want anybody to mess with it. IMO, it looks too damn good!

I agree....the roof curves really nicely. A T-Top would most likely flatten it out.

I think I will be getting an estimate on getting a Targa top for the Z. What kind of place does this conversion though? Body shop? How would I tell if they are reputable enough to do a good job.

carefull bro, and make sure it doesn't compromise the structural integrity of the car. If I was doing it for your car I'd do viva la bam style, just start cutting
