Is anyone still making / selling the clear reflectors with hyperwhite LEDs?

If so, how difficult is the install (how/where do you splice into the power supply)?

 

Yes, they're still being made - clearcorners.com sells them amoung a couple of others.

To splice them in you'll need the blue 3M slicers - you can connect them to the parking or turn indicator lights pretty simply.

Since you have a "gimp" website , may I suggest creating a Photobucket account & post pictures of your products. You can also use the picture description field to insert the name of the product & pricing. Then link it on your sig. This is what Bat did when his site went down & it has worked really well for him. Just a suggestion but I think this would increase your sales .

1) with parking lights?
2) with turn signals?

 

neither. the resistors for the LEDs atleast with mine are in the reflector unit. as for the resistors you see sold for turn signals and whatnot, not nescessary either. these are just piggybacking off the existing circuit.

 

I think he means the big 5W ones to prevent/cure "hyper-blink" where the blink rate goes from like 20 a minute to like 100 blinks per minute.

LED's don't draw a whole bunch of power. The turn signal circuits sense that their normal 8 watt load is now gone down to just a watt or two so they "think" that something is wrong - like a blown out light bulb - so for safety's sake they hyper-blink to alert you. I drove around for a couple of weeks with mine blinking that fast and didn't like it so I went with the load resistors.

You do NOT put them in the parking light circuits - only the turn signals. One 4 ohm resistor will go on each side which will work for both the front and back, left and right.

If you're only swapping out the fronts (or rears for that matter) you'll need an 8 ohm resistor.

Beware that these guys heat up like a son-of-a-gun. I put my hazzards on for about 15 minutes and the things became too hot to handle so make sure you mount them away from wires and plastic. I attached mine in the front and wire tied thier wires in place to hold it to a small 1" square metal tube that was just next to the headlights.

 

but if your doing reflectors; and your stock bulbs remain; your bulbs are all the resistance you need. you just need 1 high wattage draw on the line; either a bulb or one of those resistors. the reflectors would never replace the bulb(atleast I hope not lol) so these are just an extra item and wont be affected.

if you go with LED turn signal bulbs; then you would get into that arena.
