In another recent thread, someone (I don't remember who) mentioned that you can buy Nissan leather seat covers for $850. Does anybody know about this? The leatherseats.com cover look good, but I'd rather have OEM if price was comparable. You know?

BTW, it's hard to tell with the picture, but is this shade of burnt orange similar to the OEM 'orange'? Thanks

I think Nissan uses an aftermarket company. I think they use Katzkin(sp?) and then put a huge markup on it. I could be wrong though. As far as I know its the same color as OEM.

BTW, my upholstering shop said the covers were thicker than OEM and of higher quality.

Would Nissan use an aftermarket company that just sued them?

leatherseats.com then my upholstery shop installed them. Stretched, glued, and stapled over existing.

OK, I know you guys love this interior (and to be honest I do to) but don't you think those seats look a little budget...the embroidery work is awesome but look at the fit of the leather...there are wrinkles all over the sides...you can especially see them in the first set of pix at the top of the post...It's just that the model I'm buying has cloth in it and I want to swap them out. I'm very impressed by the color scheme and detailing on the dash and door but to be honest, bottom line, I think the power/heat/more breathable and non wrinkled leather from Nissan would be almost worth the 2K...now, how to figure out a way to embroider them.

Dont take this the wrong way because it does look good, but if it was me I would of gone with black leather in the center and the orange on the sides, but thats just me

The first pics were right after the install. I'm sure most people will tell you the leather shrinks and tightens after the install. No problem with wrinkles now for me.

BTW, you spend the 2k. I however chose not to. That money will easily pay for two more leather removals, installs, and the kits themselves.

Good luck with the embroidery. You will probably need to add at least another $500 to your 2K price for factory leather removal, digitizing of emblem, embroidery fees (each seat), and then cost of installing the seat cover again. (Watch out, you may get some wrinkles when you reinstall)

With that cost, it's more like 3 possibly 4 installs for me.

I know what you're saying, I've seen that combo. While I like it, I don't like it as much as the full Burnt Orange, and thats what counts. I would love to see some Ventilated BO seats from a Roadster in a Coupe.
