Default Question on tint for Black on Black Z.(Pics)

I am going for the all black look, my windows are currently tinted 35% all around. (bought it that way) The sides look kind of dark, not enough though, and the rear definately needs to be darker.

Question: What tint should i get, what percentages??? Should i get a black tint or a silverish mirror tint? keep in mind, i like seeing out my windows in the day time and don't want too much attention from cops.

These pics were taken when they was no sun, so the tinit may seem darker than they actually are.

Side: Car is kind of dirty in this pic.

Rear: Still dirty! (The rear tailight is tinited now with bats overlays, picture is old):

Im going to post some better pictures of the windows, with some sun!, when my camera battery is done charging.

i would go with darker tint if i were going for the "blacked out" look. However, that may attract more attention from the 5-0.

I like the 35% look.

If you care about staying legal.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.

Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.

Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

Front Side Windows Must not be more than 35% reflective.

Back Side Windows Must not be more than 35% reflective.

Legal-smegal. Go with 5-10% on the sides and back and about 20-25% on the front. But you had better have the HID lights so you can see at night.

I have 13% on the sides and back and 30% on the front. Now I wish I had gone with 5% on the sides and back and 20% on the front. But cops in Florida don't seem to hassle people on tint, I see LOTS of limo tint cars (5%) all the time and quite a few have tint on the windshield. I got a medical waiver though so I'm actually legal.

I wouldnt tint the windsheild; that dangerous IMO.

I went 20% sides, and 5% rear. couldnt imagine having that visiblility in the front. but I love it on the rest. the dark rear keeps light out and makes the sides look darker, as for the front; I did do a quasi legal visor strip which I like, for functionality; I dont like visors much, and no factory tint there

I had 35% like you. I changed it to 20%.

I definately like the 20% better. It looks better, and it isn't so dark that it would attract cops or make driving at night dangerous.

I have 5% all the way around on my super black. Looks hot and surprisingly I've never had any trouble with cops. I was at a gas station once and a cop told me I could have problems with it but that was it. He didn't seem to care too much. He just started talkin to me about my car and forgot about the tint! lol. But driving at night IS something to get used to. Difficult at times but i've gotten used to it. If you're worried about driving at night I'd go with 20% it will still look awesome and at night it will just about as dark as my 5%. I could try to get pics for you if you like.

I need to get my tint done hopefully this week since i just finished my amprack and it attracts alot of attention with two amps exposed through the rear window. Thanks for all the help guys!

for the record; all car windows have a very minor tint for UV purposes and whatnot; on the scale of 97% or whatever; so nothing noticable.

but alot of people get 35% tint thinking its legal. but if a cop did want to be an ***; he'd use his little meter, and itd read like 33%. he could ticket you anyway.

ussually the next line up is 50%; and thats really weak. so chances are legality may as well be throw out the window. if your concerned with being legal, just skip the tint. otherwise throw caution to the wind and get what you want.

Let me clear somethings up, here are my priorities:
1. Looks
2. The security of my car (all my car audio crap is clearly visible through my windows: HU, Sub, Amps)
3. Heat, does tint help with interior heat
4. Privacy from other cars.
5. The 5-0

One more question what about the rear quarter panel window? Same as sides or darker?

Sponserthisway thanks for tryin to take some pics for me
Also, thanks again everyone else.

I keep hearing this but if I was a criminal I would target the cars with dark tint because you know they are probably going to have a nice stereo. Of course they also probably have a nice alarm system too...

The amount of interior heat is drastically reduced if you get a metalic based tint. They seem to reflect more of the heat energy than non-metallic ones but make sure you research the exact brand to be sure.

I did those in the same % as the sides but they come with tint already so they will be darker which is fine.

THANKS FOR THE PICS!, yours are a little darker than i am going for , but your car looks very nice. I suggest tinting the rear tail light, it would look very nice on your car!
