Default My Varis duct install

Install pics of my Varis duct. SPL parts here in Austin had the duct and popcharger so I bought and installed both. I really like the sound of the popcharger. I know...I need to wash and get clear side markers for the car. Yeah it's dirty and has some morning dew as well.

Easy install. I'm going to buy some tubing and run between back of duct to popcharger area. Just thought I'd show. Questions??

Can't tell from the photo, but doesn't it already have the funnel going into the stock intake location? If not, you may be missing a piece.

Nope, that's it. Basically just gives another avenue for air to enter the intake...It's a great looking mod, turns people's heads for sure. I loved mine. Not sure if it helped much, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

SPL parts website: http://splparts.com

I don't think there is a piece missing. All other pics I've ever seen show the duct about the same length as mine. I wonder if Varis will make a version with the duct going all the way to the "airbox". That would be perfect.

Performance? To me the Z feels more responsive and I really like the growl you get in the upper rpm range, mean and aggressive . I previously had an AEM CAI that was on the car when I purchased. That filter was very dirty and that may be a reason why the JWT felt like such an improvement. I like the sound and the ease at which to access the filter when cleaning is needed is much better than AEM.

Gatti-man, I am going to try to make it out to the next meeting. I just sent off my CZOT membership form as well.

Thanks for the replies guys.

This is what I'm talking about...looks like it goes all the way inside the stock location:

The Z in that pic has a CF cooling plate installed. That's what you see that makes it look like the duct is going all the way back to the intake.

Default Cooling plate

yeah that is the cooling plate I am thinking of getting. The tube from Varis duct to "airbox" and then the plate to cover the tube.

Like this pic.

What tools did you use to cut the bumper?

Nice screen name by the way

If you don't mind me asking what did they charge you to ship it, or did you pick it up? Also, did they have it in stock or did you have to wait?

Your Varis duct looks great, I love them on white Z's. BTW does anybody know what CF cooling plate that is that routes the air from the air duct to the filter location? If you could post who sells them that would be cool too....

Wired 24-7 - I used a Dremel to cut the bumper. Worked like butta !
JDMZ33 - I have seen that duct before, I think it is for a C-West N1 bumper, I'm not sure how compatible it is with the Varis.
05PPW350Z - They had the part in stock, I called first to inquire if they had the JWT popcharger in stock then went by the shop. When I was there to pick up the popcharger I inquired about the Varis not really expecting them to have it. I just had good timing I guess. Guy told me it is a good seller and hard to keep in stock.
Alberto - I have seen the cooling plate on Ebay. Just do a search for "350z radiator" or "350z shroud" and it should show up. If I remember correctly they are about $119 or so.

I've been able to examine this mod on a couple local cars, and it looks great. Very functional and makes the bumper look aftermarket and just a little more aggressive

I don't know of any HP gains. I purchased the Z with mods already in place. I don't have any dyno #'s. This popcharger and Varis are my first mods. Will probrably do crank pulley and flywheel/clutch combo next.

Anyone know of HP gains with the Varis??
