CF B Pillar Install ?
For those of you that have installed the Real Carbon Fiber B Pillar Panels:
1) Is it OK to use alcohol to clean/prep the surface before the premoter. Or, do I have to find and buy the cleaning Naphtha before using the promoter on the pillar? I was thinking alcohol would be fine to clean the surface unless the promoter needs the Naphta to react with.
2) I notice that the Real Carbon Fiber Panel is not rounded on the edges and doesn't fit around the bends at the edges of the factory B Pillar cover. Do I need to heat the Real Carbon Fiber Panel prior to install. Or, is it flexible enough after the paper backing comes off to be formed on the edges. It seems like a tight bend and the Real Carbon Fiber Panel seems so stiff.
3) It states no trimming required. However, if I need to trim a 1/8" off this thing how would I do that? Would I use a straight edge and razor blade?
4) The instructions say it is removable but, is it really with the high tack adhesive will there be damage if I decide to take this off if it doesn't work out?
I only get one shot at this so I want to do it right. I can hardly wait to get these things on. But, it is one of those things not done right you could really screw up something and end up spending a lot of money to fix if it doesn't work as expected.
Thanks for your input in advance. Mecinoid

OK so it looks like no one knew. I decided to wait for a warm day, which is today. Low 80's where I live and go for it. It looks like the promoter might etch a bit. However, I think if I took it off it wouldn't be so bad that good plastic polish and a hour of work wouldn't fix that.
It did seem to be a little more pliable than it did the other night so I figured it would form OK.
I cleaned the surface with alcohol, applied the promoter, pulled the backing off of the CF and installed it lining up the top of the CF panel and worked my way down so as not to get any air underneath. Even with that I almost got a pocket of air trapped. However, I was able to rub it out. I then used a Microfiber towel to get the rest of the glue/promoter residue off of the face of the CF panel. There was only a little bit because I was careful but, I had to make sure I got it off the face right away.
Here are the results:

I think it looks pretty good on my car with the CF inserts for the front emblem and the black G35 spoiler on the rear. It fits my cars scheme with the Carbon seats as well. Looks like it belongs so I think it will stay on there for some time.
Here's a before shots for comparision:

ebay $37 for the kit which included the promoter. It was a deal for Real Carbon Fiber B Pillar Panel. It is not the vinyl sticker that some use. It's really gives a dimensional look to it.
Here's my purchase:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8003789887
I'm sure if you contact him he can set up a Buy it Now for your at the same $29.99 that I bought mine for. It was like 7.xx additional for shipping.
Good company, took about 3 days to recieve. Fast service !!!!
Update, just click on the picture on his other 350Z pillar purchases. There is one running at $29.99 for Buy it now right now. It ends in 5 days.
Enjoy the ride .....

Yeah, that's a pretty good deal. I thought it was like $37 plus shipping until I looked at it again. That price make it like $37 shipped anywhere in the USA.
They look pretty hot. I like them the more I look at them. Especially, in the sun when the carbon fiber shows through. I haven't found any blems on them at all and I'm looking.

Great quality as well. I'm not going to tell my buddies with Z's where I got it just so I can keep my car unique. j/k lol !!!
The G35 spoiler keep my car unique. Not too many of us want to go to the trouble to mod that G35 spoiler to work on the 350Z.
If I had known, I probably would have passed too.

I have the b-pillar covers and I also have mirror accents. I paid like $110 for the miror accents over a year ago but the quality is phenomenal. I love the look of CF. I even have emblem fillers. Nice job on the install.

Very fast compared to a lot of ebay items I buy. I expected 1-1.5 weeks. I think they state 3-5 days using US Postal.

I think between the two items it is just about as much CF as I think you should put on the outside of the car. Just accents, you know, not everything. I am thinking about buying the CF engine cover. That would tie the engine compartment in. I am also thinking about buying the CF gauge and inside door handle pack. That would be just the right amount of CF on the car I think. Just a little here and there, not everywhere.
