friend of mine is giving me a carbon fiber hood, he took it off because it began to haze real bad. trying to find out if it can be fixed? anybody know anything about it?

 

it should have had an acrylic/urethane clear coat applied when manufactured. it might not be too late...

 

too late for that hood. best bet is to paint it or use it for track only. cut it up with some holes for vents.

if it's Hazing. the hood mfg used cheap resin that's not UV protectant and its pretty much toast as far as the gel coat goes..

 

Is it VIS? I had that problem on my last car. I just bought a new hood. FImages

 

Your best bet to make it look nice is to candy coat it.

I did this when mine hazed.

It turned out looking pimp .
