I replaced mine last night. No issues whatsoever. Most likely, he pulled the wrong direction when pullng out the lights.

he pulled the wrong direction. you have to pull away from the car towards the side; left or right away from the car.

stand infront of the rear corner of the car and pull towards you...

i was definitely pulling the right way - but when it finally gave, the peg still broke
