Default In-Car Cell Phone

Has anyone found a way to have either of the Z's interior plug-in power sources "hot" when the key is off? Any other vehicle I've seen with a "power outlet" always works when the key is on or off. The plug-in in the bulkhead behind the seats and the one in the passenger side of the dash are both inoperative when the car is off.

I used to keep my cell phone plugged in and turned on my other vehicles and it would always be charged and ready for use. If I keep the phone on in the Z it eventually runs down because it is not receiving a consistant charge.

Is there anyway to convert one or the other power plugs to one that is "always-on"?

Sure that easy. Hot wire it from the battery. It will then be your job to make sure it doesn't drain the battery all the way down.

Of course, your going to want a appropriate fuse in line with it and disconnect the old wire.

on my 4runner, I have my 500w power converter, wired directly from the battery. You have to find the path where the wire would go and install it the same way.
