Default Rear Z Emblem Install for doubters ....

OK, I have had a lot of people scream BS on the fact that I took the stock "Z" out of the rear "350Z" Emblem and reinstalled it where the old Nissan Hamberger resided covering the two hole that emblem leaves behind.

So, I decided it was time to take it off and reinstall it to prove to the doubter this is possible and that I did not fill and repaint and then install the "Z" emblem.

Below is photo documentation of the install/reinstall for those who are interested. I still need to clean up a little bit of the black silicone sealer I used to make sure the holes are plugged. However, I am sure you will get what happened here from the pictures.

If you have any questions, please ask. However, no more BS flags please.
Thank You! - Mecinoid

I hate to be the third guy to tell you this man, but it is upside down. So no BS flag, just an imaginary "Upside Down" flag.

Yeah, but it covers the holes and still looks good doesn't it?

You guys are the first to notice. Perhaps it's the extreme closeup.

I really didn't think anyone would ever pick up on that. No one has that has seen it in person. Darn you guys.

I mean, come on, it looks good .......

Tech spec: the top arm is ~4.6mm wide the bottom arm is ~5.3mm wide just enough to cover that 5mm hole. So, yes, you have to flip it.

but if it was me i would make it right. if you look at your side emblems then look at the rear i think people might notice. i mean youve got a nice car i wouldnt let something like that detract from it.

i remember i had my nissan emblem off one time and i stuck an extra Z like that over my holes just to see, turned the right way it wouldnt cover them completely.

Actually that is the point. It can be done and until this thread no one has notice it. Lol !!! I did this temporary but, no one notice til now. The plan was to go with this front and rear.

I have it up front. Now you darn guys let the cat out of the bag so I might have to go through with it.

Oh well, my own fault I guess. Lol ..... I really was convinced I was going to get away with it.

Cracks me up. My wife is really, really detail oriented and she didn't notice.

But, now I suppose your going to tell me that one is upside down too. ROTGL

I'm the same way.... No problem dude. It was only temporary. Others really liked it and have been talking about it. I do like it better than the Nissan Hamberger even upside down. But, I want to try the Satin Z with CF inserts and see what that looks like. I mean it's only $40. That less than a tank of gas. My buddy called me today and wanted the data. So there you are.

Heck, there are a lot of people that hate my G35 wing on there. Do I care? Not! Because I really like it. I think it is a bit unique.

Keep on modding and see what you like is what I say.

Peace out.

mecinoid, how far apart are the pin holes on the rear?

im having my front emblem shaved, and plan to fit a smaller nissan badge, like off the engine cover in the rear. The stock nissan badges are an eye sore

30.5mm with 5mm holes.

Therefore, that is 35.5mm to the outside or 25.5mm to the inside edges.

I measured the rear Nissan badge on my '01 Pathfinder since I was thinking the same think. It measure out to be a total of 57.4mm across the badge with a height of 12mm for that center Nissan bar part. It looks like it would cover the holes really well.

Now, if they only made that in the Satin finish "Z" emblem like on the front of my car. You then could inserts carbon fiber peices and it would be perfect for me.

mecinoid, I must admit man, that CF applique under the courtesyparts' Z hamburger emblem is pretty original. Looks very sharp.
