Let me know if anyone is interested in that. Its pretty dang cheap and if you dont have any other emblems on the back it probably would look awesome.
you get one made and post pics and ill think about it, but right now id rather stick with one from japan, it would be worth it to get the real looking thing, especially when i goto shows this coming spring..

....you know, you could try routing out that emblem on a peice of cedar for a template....take the picture and your template to a metal shop and I am sure they could make one. Anyone got dimensions?

I can't really trace it as I would have to take it off the car and since it's only stuck on with two sided tape (comes that way from TK) it would probably never go back on with the same adhesion. I will try to measure it, but it is currently in hiding (so 35 Ounces can't steal it ) so may take a while. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend.

BTW the piece is made from chrome and has quite a bit of weight to it for it's size. It is very high quality and is not made from plastic or aluminum as someone had wondered.

Here's what you do. Put a sheet of paper over it and run a pencil over it smoothly. If you do it correctly it should make darker marks where the emblem is leaving an emblem shape on the paper. Viola!

its even simpler than that. they already have the design duplicated, all they need is the width(depth of the emblem), the length(from left to right), and the height. all of which can be easily done with a small ruler

wow, im surprised you guys dont seem to like them that much, I thought they looked awesome. I mean yeah its not authentic TK, but have we figured out if that guy can even get some and bring em back or ship em? plus these would be like 10 bucks as opposed to 50 or 60ish. I dunno, not a huge deal if you guys aren't interested, just thought you might dig em.

Well I wasn't able to go visit my car today, but I did have the emblem measured. Below are some of the measurements that hopefully will help out. I should have my hands on the car next weekend.

whats the depth? like how much does it rise from your car? i know its gotta be under 1/2" for sure... thats the only other measurement i would need and maybe i can get my bodyshop guy to do it, it took 6 years of metal work and detailing, im sure this wouldnt be trouble at all...

Is the whole thing smooth or is the red part embossed?

The total depth of the emblem, measuring from the deck lid to the top of the emblem is ~1/4 (.25) inches. As previously mentioned, it does come with two sided "tape" which accounted for roughly 1/16 (.0625) of an inch of the total .25 inches.

I am only speaking from memory as I can't actually check, but I seem to remember that "red" was slightly higher than the silver/chrome outline, tapered down as it meets the silver/chrome outline.
