I recently installed 06 units [which I got from Perf. Nissan] which I also installed a set of 12000k d2r bulbs, and presto, the nicest Violet color you ever saw. It's amazing how they look.

No offense to anyone that has them, but i think the new headlights are butt ugly. It makes the car look bug-eyed. On the contrary the tail lights look nice.

Non taken, once I installed them I stepped back and well,,,,,nothing. It was'nt what I expected but it is an excellent lighting upgrade though but Nissan could have done better. I expect G35 lites will be changing very soon I hope Nissan does better on those.

12000K bulbs are just plain stupid IMO. You are putting out less Lumens (sp) than Halogen lights! Not to mention no respectible company makes bulbs over 6000k

davidf can you post pics of that setup? Im thinking of maybe getting some of these off a wrecked z since no doubt there will be one soon in my area because i hate the orange reflectors on the 04 i have but if it looks dumb i rather not. On a bone stock z it does look kinda like a smiley face but i have a do-luck bumper and ic so im guessing the meanness might go away. Plus i'd definiely put my 10k mcmullon hids in there. No way id ever do stock again its too white.

You don't need high Kelvin’s to get the blue color you want. The real color you see from BMW's and other cars with that sexy blue, are from there cut off. All the 06 lights I have seen have NO color in the cut off, this is what has stopped me from buying them. If you get a projector with a colorful cut off, then you get the color with out sacrificing light output.
