Default Painting the intercooler...

Quick question regarding a little dress up on the intercooler. I am currently saving up for the Turbonetics ST kit and I was wondering how a guy could go about painting the Z logo on the intercooler. I am planning to use the Stillen Series 2 Front Fascia so that the intercooler gets plenty of air and I was thinking that it would be pretty trick to somehow stencil the Z logo right into the middle of the intercooler so it can be seen from the front of the car. See the link below for a better reference of what I am talking about...

See how they stenciled the stillen logo on the intercooler? Now, it goes without saying that it needs to be the right kind of paint but I am thinking that I could probably make the stencil for it myself. Any ideas guys, pros/cons?

Most have logos already but some do not, not sure about the kit your getting. Try a Google search I'm sure someone has or knows how to do it.

turbonetics st uses a spearco intercooler with the blue "SPEARCO" logo on it already.

If you get an intercooler like Greddy that has no logos or designs on them, simply cut out a piece of cardboard with your design cut out, place it on top of the intercooler fins, and spray on. That's it.

Umm... you're wrong to a point.

The Spearco intercooler that comes with the Turbonetics ST does have the Spearco logo painted on it... BUT... the great thing about the intercooler is it's reversible so you can just install it with the Spearco logo facing inward.

So, feel free to paint your logo on it. I personally think a big Z up there would look a bit cheesy, like when those honda guys put a big H on their back window. But hey, whatever works for you.

Also, don't go too crazy with the paint. The paint will actually decrease the heat transfer efficiency of the intercooler, so don't go overboard. There is a particular type of paint out there that is designed to retain, or even improve heat transfer efficiency. Its' pretty expensive though and I'm not sure where you can buy it.
