I have a 04 and I wore a hole thru mine under the gas pedal from sneakers.I got the 06 mats also but I noticed the hole in the new mat didn't line up with the rubber peg that holds the mat in place. I removed the peg from the floor of the car and see that the hole in the mat now lines up perfectly with the hole in the floor of the car. So I guess I need to order the 06 plastic piece that goes in the floor.
If you look you will notice that the 03-05 piece is offset from where it attatches to the floor.

As far as material, I think its alot strong then the previous mats, alot stronger. Plus you have the rubber peice that you wont wear through, 06 should be shipped to every Z owner Cant believe this thread is back BTW haha.

Yes, at first I spun the peg 360 out of the way then noticed the hole in the mat lined up with the point where it snaps into the floor of the car. Other than that it fits good and I like the new material. Looks more durable.

My Dealer actually didnt just give them to me, since my car was 13-14 mos old and I was out of the 12 month interior warranty. A good number to call is 1800nissan1 and they can talk to the dealer and work it out, kind of like a nissan lawyer haha.

Well I was wrong about the plastic post on the floor that holds the mat in place being different in the 06. I looked at a 06 today at the dealership and it looked the same as mine so I checked at the parts Dept. and it is in fact the same part # for all years.

The original poster's mat doesn't have a heel guard, so its no wonder that its worn (it looks exactly like my passenger side mat - I have a right hand drive Z).
That said my drivers side Z floor mat has worn in the same way under my clutch foot - the heel guard (which isn't worn) extends only under accelerator and brake. It would be great for an auto but not a manual. Mine has worn out in 10k km (about 6k miles! but all urban so lots of gear changing and always formal hard heeled shoes). I went to Nissan to replace but the only items they had were identical and I assumed would wear in the same way.

The stock and Nismo are junk since they need a rubber mat under where your feet rest on the Gas, brake, and clutch pedals. My mats after a month looked worse than my truck mats that are 10 years old.

HAHA, I found this thread today while searching for "floor mats"
I just got some new OEM Z floor mats, but I hate how the heel guard creates unneeded traction with my heel when I hit the clutch. My heel will hit the guard before I depress the clutch all the way.....not sure if it's supposed to be like this, but I feel like I shift better without the floor mats.

I've had my stock Z mats since I got the car and they are like new... and I wear some sharp heeled dress shoes pretty much every day... I only give them a break on weekends when I drive with sneakers.
I ordered some Nismos and will see... if they are too 'light' then I will save them for the meets...
