Interior Scratches
My interior, especially in the rear of the car, seems especially prone to scratches. The black part near the strut bar looks awful - not that I am especially rough on the car, but it is a daily driver and I put stuff in the trunk alot. Have any of you come across any kind of product that protects the vinyl, or cleans it well enough to buff out light scratches? Is there a good way to restore it without spending the $$$ to replace all of the plastic?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I guess you can spray it with one of those interior spray paints from pepboys (I'm sure it comes in colors other then lyme gree, baby blue and hot pink, like the ricers like so much). The really deep scrateches can be sanded down with really fine sandpaper. However if you don't address the issue of stuff flying around your trunk, forget it, waste of time. And if you are going to spray, then make sure you cover all the plastic, oherwise it will stand out.
I think I am too scared to actually paint it, because I know the texture will change and it will look terrible. I guess the stuff flying around the trunk is the problem, and I should use the cargo net more. It just seems like every time something lightly brushes against it, it leaves a permanent mark and looks very cheap. I guess this is just another way that Nissan was able to make this car less than 30k and I just have to deal with it or replace the interior with something custom, something I am never likely to do. Sanding it down might be an option; though again that is probably something I would hire a professional to do, in which case it would probably cost as much as replacing the plastic. Thanks.

Let them argue about whose leather is more supple...

Let them argue about whose leather is more supple...i have the same problem with my interior too btw... i had a really big scratch which i filled with epoxy, sanded down and painted. The finish came out nice, but you lose the stock plastic's "texture"
my recommendation is to live with it unless the scratch(es) get so deep you have no choice but to repair
