Unfortunatly, this route was much more expensive....the Stock fascia can be had from local dealerships for $230 versus $780 for the Nismo piece.....and then you still have to ship the Nismo piece to the States...another $580

hmm... kinda surprised that the stock fascia is so cheap....

My guess on why it looks "closer to the Nismo S-tune car" in your eyes is because it is the same color. I'v always felt that the silver cars had a ton of class in their look but didn't seem near as edgy or sporty as the other colors.

That is why I like the Nismo fascia for the silvers especially.....adds a little aggression without being overdone. I wouldn't go as far to say it looks "so much better" because I see them identical ....it comes down to color preference. I do think the lines on the Nismo fascia are more evident and pronounced in the lighter colors. I actually like mine over the S-tune's Silver/Black two tone. (probably the biggest difference) I think once I finish it should all compliment nicely. It's hard to compare something in two different colors.....especially when they differ as much as mine and Skidazzle's

Also, FWIW, wait until you see the finished product of Skiddazzle's car......should be a big eye opener. I know it is amaizing in reallife and I'm yet ride in it. <silent middle finger to droidekus>

Thank You, you aren't telling me anything new about the lack of damage. Everytime someone would overtake me on the left hand side or sitting in traffic the passengers of the other cars would come by looking at the car and checking it out and the first thing they would do was grab the attention of the driver and start pointing at my busted up stock piece.

It feels much better now to know that it's fixed......and I like the look WAY OVER stock appearance now....it took seeing it in person for me to be sold completly on it. BTW, what is happening with your hood?

Thanks again

I just noticed you said ....."I'm not sure if it's the black color or the pics but I kind of was disappointed to see the Nismo Kit on Ski's z.. ".....I believe you are thinking of SDPEARSO's car, it's black. Skiddazzle's ride is the Daytona Blue one with more **** already done to than you could shake a stick at (assuming shaking a lumber in the general direction of excrement is your bag)

IMO, the kit will probably look different in just about every color....I can't wait to see Doc Bonz pieces when he get them on. Best thing is.....they should all look great.

If I put her in her place now, then later on down the road if all goes well with us.......she'll know there is no use arguing when it comes to car stuff.

If I get a lot of push back and she isn't understanding on the whole "car thing" then it would never have worked anyway. This will be a good test.

see ya'll there......

I sit just me, or does $2000 not seem like an obscene amount of money for a new front fascia? Not questioning his decision to purchase it, but I am blown away by the total cost, that's all.

Default My reasoning

believe me, I vacillated a great deal on this......

Most companies are gonna run $500ish for a fascia....Nismo is a little high on all products but the quality is usually there. The 200 dollars I might have saved by not going with Nismo....would have gone to the body shop for the extra labor to prep the piece. I had this with happen with my Stillen Fascia on the Z32....quality materials but the edges were a little rough, and some spots needed a little work....so that evens out.

Plus I mentioned that I went to an above average body shop to match the color......they take a long time, are meticulous, and go great work. I didn't mind paying for that. ( you'll see my reasoning in a minute) For example: My Z32 took 1-1/2 days and $380 at a mid level shop that does a lot of great work versus the Z33's at 4.5 days and $800.

Now, all that said and done......Any decent non-knockoff fascia in the states will not be had for no less than $480ish + $400ish mid level paint&install + shipping and what not....So on average you'd spend $950-$1500 on a fascia upgrade depending on parts, shop...ect.

Concider now.. that I stuck my insurance company with a comprehensive claim from the kamikaze fox ....now....they pay $230 of the $780 for the Nismo piece (backdoored by the bodyshop) + $800 paint and install. Now, all I'm out, is the $550 (fascia) + $500 (shipping)+ $200 rental Maxima. $1250 total.

And last but not least....we piggy backed Skiddazzle's Nismo sway bars in my container (only had fascia and my illumination kits inside) and he is splitting the $500 shipping with me......so my total out of pocket is is now $1,000 and I'm rolling a genuine Nismo piece that is somewhat rare.

I had the fascia and everything lined up to get it all done (having already convinced myself that $2,000 seemed reasonable for the upgrade when I decided to see if I could get the insurance company to cover atleast part of the cost......having demolished the fox.

So....seats are done......fascia is done.......hhhmmm????

Wheels?
