You will have to remove the plasit paneling from inside the hatch, which just unclips. Then you will gain access to most of the bolts that hold the wing in, remove them, and it'll be off
Then you'll be left with holes in the hatch tho.

Yo...
this bodyshop near me wants 700 dollars to "fill" the holes
is that anywhere even close to being "about right"?

Filling holes isn't an easy thing to do, correctly. There is a lot of labor involved. Considering that you have to fill the holes, and re-paint, blend, yeah, that's a pretty decent price if it's a decent job. To fill the holes, I think the proper way to do it is that they have to get a piece of metal welded in, from the underside to plug the hole, then fill the remaining space with a filler, then paint etc....

I just removed my stock spoiler. what a pain in the @ss. there is only 2 bolts holding it down, but removing it is very difficult. the double sided tape is very strong, so strong that after i removed the bolts i relized they aren't doing anything. you have to run some fishing line back and forth to cut the adhesive, heating it will help. dont try to do this in cold weather. i pryed one side of the spoiler up about a half inch and ran a exacto knife down real carefully until i sliced all the adhesive. And yes the stillen wing covers the holes. here are some pics.
