Default Question for those with convertibles. Z or non-z's

Well I'm about to get rid of the Z and get into a convertible and was wondering if its traditional at all to have issues with the soft tops after a certain duration. The car has an electric top which is covered under their warranty ( BMW Z4 ) so I'm not too concerned but was curious about the possibilities of leaking etc. Any info would be appreciate. Rain is a concern since I'm in Florida.

I have an Audi A4 Cabriolet and have never had an issue with leaking or any other problem with the top.

Well I decided not to go with the Z4 for other reasons but its good to know for future reference that convertibles arent something to stear away from.
