You must not drive on the freeway much. I frequently take the car on short road trips (200 miles) on the highway and always wind up with new nicks

Clear bra is a great product and they stand behind there product. I had my entire front ended done when i bought by car. I had a rock piece it and leave a chip in my paint. I took it back to my installer and they removed the piece and fixed the chip and put a whole new piece on for free. I paid 900 for it and I will have one on all of my cars.

I'll be honest, when I first glanced at this topic. I asked myself, "Why would a woman want a clear bra?"

First, thanks to everyone for their help and recommendations. I was quoted $495 for the full kit by Aero Shield in La Verne, but I'm also going to check a few other places.

Now...

To the couple of people who seem to think I'm crying over spilt milk, bite me. Maybe your car has no value to you, but mine does to me. I have a suggestion for asshats like you: contribute something useful or nothing at all. Alternately, you could just do the world a favor and kill yourself. I strongly urge you to choose the latter. Speaking of which, would it kill you to use proper capitalization and avoid run-on sentances? Or is that asking too much of your apparent 3rd grade education?

This is exactly the type of crap that kept me away from the forums for my previous car. The average IQ here seems to be marginally higher, but that surely won't last.

//end rant

That's the thing, there wasn't anyone in front of me (or on the side for that matter) for at least 200 yards. I heard it hit and it didn't sound very severe. Looks like it skipped off the hood and into the windshield. Believe me I don't tailgate and I avoid following trucks like the plague.

Can anyone recommend an installer in the LA/IE area? Also, what has everyone been paying for the full bumper/hood/mirror set?
This is why I wrote the "read this before you mod your Z" thread. Good luck with the clear bra, you will apprecite it more now.

Best investment that I ever got for the car even back in 2002 when they first came out with it. I had to wait a month before they could come up with the cast. 3m came out first and I bought the first half of the kit from them. The second came from Clearshield. Even today, I have had it installed on every car since then.

I am a little too late to get the clear bra (bought z 4-04). I have uncountable chip marks on my front bumper (all of them below the headlights), so I figure I'd just repaint the front to get the "new" look.
I just couldn't believe how poor quality paint the 350z has on the front bumper . My old 91 300z had way less, if any, chips on the front. But I still love my 350.

I kinda doubt it's a matter of paint quality - probably more like having a lot of frontal area relatively close to the ground. I imagine Nissan uses the same paint for all of it's cars...how do the Altimas and Sentras seem to be faring?

Default Hi mjmaltese

Definately see Francisco at Aero Shield in La Verne. He put a full front end kit and the headlight covers on my z and that was 2 years ago and it still looks brand new. He is top notch when it comes to installing the bra. MY car is the red Z on his web page. Tell him Glenn send you with the red Z.
Have a good one.

My mother owns an Altima that gets chips on the front like no car I've ever seen before.

You can keep the 350Z in the garage under cover. Once a week, take it out and wash it. Post a few photos here. Then put it back in the garage. It will always be beautiful. It will always be perfect.

It's great to hear a good word about his work. The price also seems to be good and he's local, so I will probably end up going there unless another shop beats his price.

You're a twit. I realize it's not some high-end car, but it is an investment nonetheless. That and the fact that I've only had it for a week.
I FEEL your pain!! man. same happened to me less than week nice chip out of front bumper now i have many small ones.
. luckily i got the silverstone its black under the paint.

BTW you should know the car is NOT an investment.. i think an investment is subposed to be worth More than you paid in the future.. not loose 5g's when you drive off the lot! eheh

anyway sory to here.. i was thinkin about a bra myself, i dont think a black leather would look tooo bad..

An automobile is absolutely an investment, albeit a bad one. Therefore, it's in your best interest to keep it in as good condition both mechanically and cosmetically to help minimize your inevitable financial loss. Further, a decent car is more than just a monetary investment. Think of the time and energy you put into one (at least one you care about) over your term of ownership.
