Oh man, my heart jumped into my throat when I read that the shop is in NJ. I am NJ, lol.

Targa has been on my list of things to do since I got my car.
Since I just ordered my full body kit, maybe I will do that next??

things that fit in the z:

4 tires, 18inch with overall diameter~27 inch
or
32 pizza boxes, not even using the spare tire well
or
a oem front bumper, not even using the tire well

i think a top might be able to fit, but youd have to have the tire out. well see.

I looked at a targa top for my 97 mustang and the one that was available looked awesome with it off but with the top on it looked like crud. So I didn't do it. I hope these guys get it right but I don't think I'm interested in the idea any more. Or my priorities have changed for what I want in a car.

alrite guys... if u guys want put together a list of questions and either tommorrow or saturday ill give these guys a call so that we can have some answers to all the questions you guys are having. another thing, it mite be more reasonable if the top was able to be split into 2 peices so that we can fit it nicely into the trunk? just an idea.

According to Jay at the shop, the new Gen II kit uninterupted is 8 hours before paint to install. Yeah they need to do the usual chassis bracing from underneath for support.

Why not glass T Tops? Wouldn't it be easier to do T Tops? And then they fit in the trunk!

As far as leaking is concerned, my last car was a '94 Supra with the sport roof, never leaked once... even in the worst weather and it was 10 years old. If Toyota can do it, there's no reason why Nissan can't... but then, my Z is 3 years old and leaks like a sieve (getting fixed on Monday).

CUxtopher, I think that you might want to read the entire thread and check out the link provided in the very first post. The price of "2700 bucks" is just for the kit. A conversation with someone at the company confirmed this.

BTW, they will, more than likely, be making the roof into two parts for easier storage just as the Glass Top version for the Mustang comes in two pieces .

From http://www.jmsproductsinc.com/:

NEW 94-06 Targa Kits...

All new Gen II design..multiple top options, Smoked clear, Split 2 piece top (joins via H-beam), Carbon Fiber CNC components, custom molded weather-stripping, Top mounted latching assembly, seamless fit...

Latch handle is a unique flush mounted design - Just push to release...

JMS Products Inc. is currently developing a network of qualified Dealer/Installers across the US and Canada. If your shop can sell and install, give us a call or send us an e-mail......

Generation II Targa w/ Glass top 3495.95 05-06
Generation II Targa w/ Composite top 2695.95 94-06
Generation II Targa w/ Carbon Fiber top 2995.95 94-06

Sooo hot! Would some "financially stable" person please do this first so we know it won't sacrifice structural integrity or leak? lol ...a carbon fiber targa top, what could be more pimp?
