smoked sidemarkers arent near as black as those pictures appear... they are clearly orange, but are much darker... not black.

Legal Issues

What are the legal issus around side markers?

Is this one of those things where you "probably" won't get pulled over if they aren't amber?

no. must reflect amber from the side.

youd have to really **** off a cop, or find a major hard *** to actually get ticketed for it. very little chance hed even notice them, AND know the law, AND want to ticket you for it.

not worth his time to stop you and write the cheap non moving violation, he could get a speeder instead. 11miles over the limit would pay more, and their easy to find.
