So I went to order a sheet of CF and they are completely out of stock (www.uscomposites.com)....

OH NO, this is horrible, buy your CF hoods and stuff while you can...

Anyone know the story behind this? Is there just a large demand or something?

Yes there is a CF shortage, most of the CF products that are brought in from over seas have been on backorder.

NASA and govenment contractors are buying all that is manufactured right now. I bought a 10 yard roll of 10.7 oz and yes, it is very hard to come by right now.

prices nearly doubled in alot of weaves.. :\

Most manufacture have stop making CF products. Cuz CF high cost. Still able to make them, but just at higher cost.

the shortage started 1 and half years ago... people didn't believe me back then...and now few company closed down because they can't get their hands on CF... so if you want CF get it now as the price will still go up

China are buying a lot of CF, followed by the aerospace industry getting a lot as well !!
