Thumbs up

Thumbs up to Ken @ Shine Auto. This is a great guy who makes great products. I really appreciate the effort this guy puts in for us car enthusiasts. Anyone who thinks about buying Shine products should rest assured he will do his best for you.

Shine has done a FANTASTIC job replicating the Central 20 kit and I only have great things to say about Ken and the crew @ Shine. I was supposed to pick up the whole kit on Saturday but Shine ran into some problems so I thought I'd have to drive the 40+ miles back to their office to pick up the rear bumper and spoiler.

Just tonight like an hour ago Ken was nice enough to stop by close to where I live and deliver the remaining parts to me. I was THIS close to getting the ENTIRE coupe Central 20 Kit by Shine today. Turns out Shine replicated the kit perfectly but the Japanese kit has a cutout for the liscense plate that is absolutely too large to accomodate American plates. I asked Ken to keep the rear bumper until I could make sure nothing was wrong with his replica. I just looked at tons of pix for central 20 rear bumpers and it seems that's just how it is since their plates are much wider. Ken has graciously offered to fill in the cutout for me even though I now know he did nothing wrong . I really want to get the word out that this is a great vendor and I hope Shine Auto has continued and growing success.

Thanks Ken!

Unfortunately I gotta wait till Shine has time to fill in the gap for me in the rear bumper. Some other JDM bumpers with the same type cutouts have license plate mounts attached to the bumper. Not sure if the real Central 20 has these mounts as well. I think Shine copied as close as possible so I would assume they would if it did. Regardless I'm hoping Shine will fill the gap and patch it up for me. Their replica looks great and is very accurate overall.

I wanted to test kit the entire kit for the Z community by tomorrow but it won't happen now...i guess next week...

I test fitted the side skirts and front bumper tonight. The spoiler doesn't really need a test fit. It's a pretty simple thing...now I just need to get my hands on the rear bumper and I can test that out too....

The kit fits really really well. If I had to grade the fitment, I would honestly give it an A. The blemishes on the kit are a bit more than I expected (lots of detailed prep work needed in my opinion) but I'll live with it. Some fiberglass is missing here and there leaving dips and/or waves but its fixable though I fear a body shop doing a crappy prep job or giving me a high estimate. If you have a body shop hookup, then you got nothing to worry about. If you fear paying good money and get some MOB Works Nightmare like I fear, then you may have some problems. I am also missing a bit of the corner (quarter inch or so) on my bumper on one edge where it meets up with the side wheel fender. It's fixable as well but I am afraid a body shop will either charge me extra for stuff like that or may do a crappy job filling it in for me. If it wasn't for things like that, I would say this replica is perfect.

I took some pics of my test fitment and I will post them soon for you guys.
Pics may be subpar but should give all an idea.

Test fitting the rear bumper for Central 20 right now.
I just threw it on.

Edit - It fits just like the rest of the kit-great! I had to play with it a while to get it to go through certain grooves but now it works fine.

As far as the light assemblies for the rear bumper, the fabricated brackets were off a bit so right now I cannot attach the bumper lights or the license plate lights/hatch release unit. Fortunately Ken @ Shine is going to help me resolve all these issues. Unfortunately, that means I have to drive 45+ miles back to Shine and wait a few more days. Alas, I had already prepared to drop off my kit tomorrow to get it painted but that'll go on hold till I can fix these issues. So close, so close....hey if nothing else you guys who get the bumper after me will have none of these issues when Shine resolves them.

James, it's been filled in with fiberglass and I am very happy with it. Once its painted nobody will know the difference. I am starting a new thread for Central 20 and Shine Auto so you can find the pix in there. Let me know how it goes with your kit too!
