My INGS +1 half kit has been ordered; should be here in 4-5 weeks. I can't wait!

i am looking for just a front lip. so far all the body kits are ok, nothing that i really like or want for my z. i want something really simple, not some front lip that sticks out there like Jay Leno's chin.

I'm about 80% with my desicion to purchase the Front Lip from INGS + Veilside V2 sides and I can't decide on a rear though. If I just install the lip from INGS right now and have stock aero for the sides and rear, how would that look?

no-purpose serving body kits = attention ***** starter kit.
next is neons, 2 15's in the trunk, 12k watt amp, and a gutted interior for "weight savings"
the list goes on unfortunately.

i think everybody knows where i stand on the whole body kit it, neons, and lambo-style doors non-sense.

if you want to customize your car, do it the right way and put some power into it!
instead most want to make it look "purty" and only imitate fast cars.
if you disagree that you're all imitators then tell me whats with the flip up doors, or the lit up exhaust pipe, body kits that make your car look like its in a japanese gt race, or fake turbo kits??
give it a rest folks, youre the ones that set the bad examples on the rest of us 350z or future 350z owners with true dedication to SPORTS car (not a rolling billboard, or mobile casino car)
and please skip out on the 2 fast 2 furious movies.

words from under ground kingz (only rap group i like) "....with the ferrari kit, take that monkey SH*# off youre embarrasing us!"

Different strokes for different folks. I paid for my Z with MY hard earned money, so I will do with it as I please. If you don't like it, and feel somehow embarrassed by it, that's your issue not mine to deal with. I didn't spend my money to make you happy.

I'm not buying go fast parts until all the manufacturers anti up. Including Nismo. I'm not convinced that what's available now will not be made obsolete by something that comes out in a few months. I'm also not buying new wheels until the feathering/camber thing is resolved. So for now, I'm doing the body kit thing. Sorry!

Red face

Wow, what body kit is that? Way COOL............

Someone seem to be so worried about what PEOPLE think, oh I'm sorry 95% of PEOPLE. This 95%, is this percentage from a major study that is published somewhere because I'd love to see it.

Unfortunately I would have to agree based on my own observation, that the majority of body kits that I've seen is done with poor taste. But, you can't use them to generalize everyone else.

You will have people that solely want's to MODIFY the appearance of their car, another will want performance, the other audio. My personal preference is all of the above. But, whichever you fall under you shouldn't put others down that doesn't agree to your own. Everyone is different and if a Z owner completely screwed modifying their car based on poor taste, then it would look bad on them not on every Z owner out there.

please just make sure it doesnt look like it could inhale a small child, or the mouth of a huge mud-cat.

as far as me being embarrased for having z owners with outrageous non-functioning body kits (SOME are nice) it goes both ways.
remember how "cool" it was for people to wear rediculous brightly colored neon clothes (think 80's) or wearing huge pants, or maybe putting your clothes on backwards. and now when you look back you think to yourself "what the hell was i thinking!!!???"
lol thats what im trying to keep from happening to some.
please dont take my comments too rude, but i have an oppinion like others.
it might not be nice, but they're true.

who the hell is putting neon lights on our Z's? unless now, your business is to appeal to the'street import scene' like The Fast and the Furious (unfortunately), when what can you do than to appeal to the masses... i for one do not like the excessive wavey stickers or Kombat bomb kits as you refer to, but the shear mechanisms going into building a scissor door or functional wing is fascinating, even if you do think its for a fake GT race car..

Although currently most body kits are just for looks, some were originally designed for function, i.e. increasing the air flow under the car to channels designed to create venturi affect, just nowadays TV/Movie has turned what was supposed to be beneficial to laughable wtf mentality...... pitty.

but i dont think you should step off the bat and call all Z owners who plan on doing the lambo doors or putting a body kit as ricers.. how do you know their car doesnt have a Twin Turbo kit or supercharger or something to back up the 'loud' exterior?

a car is meant to be catered to its owner.. so you do what you want to do...

Unfortunately, Franklin seems to think there's something horribly amiss with having a nice stereo and a nice looking car.

Shame to go through life with such apathy.

sorry to burst your bubble bud, but i like a good sounding stereo. its another thing however to have a very nice sports car with 2 20 inch subwoofers in it blaring out rap music for the whole neighborhood to hear.

as for having a nice car, whats nice to me is probably "bland and conservative" to you.
SOME body kits do look good, and those are the ones that accentuate the original body lines, not turn it into a totally different vehicle.
out rageous body kits detract from the overall shape of the car, and if you dont like how the car looks originally then buy something else. SIMPLE AS THAT, not to mention youll save yourself a bit of money too.

when you start ricing out the z car, then everyone will remember them as such.
and its a damn shame to remember the 350z as a 26 thousand dollar bag of rice.

i thank the good lord that the original z car (240Z) is in limited quantity right now, and is only getting even more rare through the years. if there were a stable crop of them i would be in fear of folks bastardizing such a beautiful and original car. (dont get me wrong, im planning on some body work for my z)

obviously some like very loud colored exteriors, annoyingly taste-less body kits, attention grabbing neons, and imitation race products.

i guess this goes to show that you are what you drive. loud, annoying, taste less, attention *****, imitator.

you can consider me a minimalist/stock looking/unsuspecting "victim"
i still love the look on people faces when a 31 year old antique rocks pass their body kitted, "customized race car"
brings a smile to my face just thinking about it, see ya on the road.

perhaps if you live in another area, you would have different views of tasteful modifications..

its a shame that you see enough neon-underlite civics or pocket rockets that you have shunned those in the aftermarket community based for our Z...

on the flip mode, it would be interesting if a tricked out 'rice' Z with a turbo and gull wings, blasts by you, then you would just claim that those Riced out Z cheated you somehow...

if you have such a small concentrated point of views, when will you open your eyes and see the passion that other people put into their cars and the effort placed in making what they feel is 'cool'

the car is an extension of one self.. those who like showy kits are often Eccentric and like the attention.. those minimalist are often those that dont like be seen..

guess youve never heard of sarcasm?
www.dictionary.com get used to it.

and as far as having a riced out car blow past me, hasnt happened yet, and i am very doubtfull it will ever happen.
A) ricers spend all their money on looks, hence "all show no go"
B) most of the people that do enjoy performance and actually invest a GOOD amount of money to produce it (thats what will take to get infront of me ) will not waste money on useless things that are only a fad.

heres alittle story about a cocky *** 350z punk from another forum, i wouldnt be surprised if this one had a body kit to compliment his vanity plates.

So Alfred and I are sittin havin some Mcdonalds at like 1:30AM. Just shootin the ****. Then in comes this blue 350z with mass plates that say FST350. I get all excited and I ask where in Mass he was from. Agawam/Feeding hills Mass. Oh boy.. agawam kids Two younger kids. The driver was quiet, the passenger was LOUD.

These kids I dont like. The passenger turns out to be "tight, yo" with a couple of kids that are complete ricer ********. He was braggin how they bailed him out of jail for $30. You know the type of kid that brags about breaking the law and being a general punkass even tho hes 24 and should be 'past that stage'. I'm not talkin bout racing either. So I proceed to laugh at him and say 'Whoever heard of a $30 bail'.

Alfred and I get back to the topic at hand the driver starts bsing about how the car runs a 12.9 bone stock. He is sponsored by Greddy. He was supposed to get their twin turbo kit but decided to build a t-60 single running off the drivers side manifold. He'll do that install in a day. Alright guy.. a little bit cocky.. big bser.

You all know I am a loudmouth and would be tellin the kid how much hes bsin and blah blah blah. I am just sitting there nodding about to internally combust from anger (don't ask, I really hate kids like this). I ask about the nitrous and the passenger says "yeah hes got NAWZ". So basically they were just ricers with money. If they didn't have 30 g's to spend on a 350z.. they'd buy a ****in geo and talk ****.

The driver says he has to head back and I say "why dont we line up'. Alfred is smirking the whole way becasue he knows that his SS is gonna have some 350z food. Plus the kid told Alfred he dyno'd at 100rwhp when Alfred politely asked him what he dyno'd at, a real smooth criminal this guy was.

I get my keys out and head to my car. I turn around and I ask him 'Are you gonna spray?". He goes "no'. I say 'You should". I give him the look of death and just turn my back and walk away. It was classic.... Yo

So we head up and the 350z lines up with alfred. The 350z takes off without notice and just puts on the hazards. I was behind them, my eyes probably lit up with fire. What ******s. Alfred lines up again and actually gets some notice of a start. They jump him and he just reals by and shuts off at 3rd gear when hes an uncountable amount of cars ahead (~10-15)

They do the same with me. 3 car head start and I'm twenty cars ahead. They had a video camera too. I wonder if next time they'll bring their crew to talk extra ****. This specific crew and I don't mix well. The driver is ok. The passenger was two **** hairs away from a slap in the face.
