Default Automatic Window Rolldown

I just noticed tonight that when you open the door, the driver side and the passenger side windows both drop differant ammounts.

My driverside drops about 1/4" and the passenger side drops more, around 1/2".

Does anyone else have this same thing or is it just mine?

I have an 03 BTW!

It's normal. I gave up a long time ago trying to get the dealer to adjust them so they were equal. Specs state that as long as it drops anywhere from 1-10mm, it's fine. Kind of an irritant to know they don't drop the same amount, but they're serving their purpose.

atleast yours work....

mine is 50:50. 50% of the time they do nothing, wont roll down with the button either. the other 50 theyll roll down but when they go back up then drop down half way.

and the glorious 3 year warrenty? yeah thats over, 500$ to fix just the drivers side.

offtopic, anyone know where to get a new window motor assembly? for less than 500$...

Did you guys also know that if you hold the unlock button on your remote for a while that your windows will go all the way down. Too bad they didn't incorporate a window up feature. I guess i'll have to get the KPtechnologies module.

You do have the roll up feature if you put the key in the door and turn it. I do want the KPTech remote version to roll them up though.

Isn't that weird? Why wouldn't they just incorporate it on the damn remote, especially if the technology or whatever is still on the car?

In a previous thread I think they said it was some safety issue.

If you hold it down long enough it will drop the whole way. Sometimes I hold the button just long enough to vent the windows to let the heat out. That's probably what you did.

It's the [UNLOCK] button not the [LOCK] button

And yes, once they start to roll down, when you let go they will stop. Or you can keep holding and they will drop all the way down

Yeah it seems to be something that dealers don't tell you because they don't know enough about the car
