Default Holes from spoiler

I have the Nismo spoiler on my car, but now I want to remove it and get the OEM spoiler, which is that tiny lip looking spoiler.
Do I have to drill holes in order to put the OEM spoiler?
And also, I already drilled small holes on my car to put on the NISMO spoiler, is there a way to fill the holes after I take them out?
Thanks.

You will have to fill them in and repaint them if you want them gone. On a side note, if you have a chrome silver Z, I have that spolier your looking for as I am looking for a nismo one.

Here's the thing with covering holes in body work. It's not easy to do. If you get it done right, what they'd have to do is weld sheet metal on top of it and then grind it smooth. After that, it'd take filler to make it that much smoother (Bondo). After that, you're looking at paint charges, along with all of the removal/replacement of the badging and stuff around the hatch (like weather stripping) to do all of what I just said. What I'm telling you is that you should either buy a used hatch, or leave the Nismo spoiler on.

I have the OEM spoiler, and to be honest, I don't even think it IS screwed on. I have a feeling that it's just stuck on with adhesive tape. I could be wrong though.

it uses 2 big screws and 2 little screws, and double sided tape all the way around, I installed mine a few months ago, pretty easy to do.

You live in CA? Try like $800 or $900. It cost me $550 to get a dent/chip the size of half a quarter on my fender fixed. The prep alone is probably listed as like 4 hours of labor.

Default -____-;

thanks for the answers...after reading, i've decided to leave the nismo spoiler on. My current mods are:
Nismo Spoiler.
Pioneer mp3/cd player.
Custom speaker inside trunk.
AEM cold air intake.
18' ADR M-Sport rims.
Custom made exhaust.
Silver dash trim kit inside.

I am a 23 year old who just graduated from college and currently working at a chemical company. I really cannot afford to spend anymore money on the car, and just having a spoiler and ugly 18' adr rim on the outside makes my car look like a piece of sh*t. If I had bodykits and lowered ride, it would probably make the car look much better. And now I just want to get rid of Nismo spoiler and ADR rims, and get stock spoiler and stock 18' rim. Oh well, I guess I will sell the car within this year to get the Hyundai Azera. I think Hyundai has really outdone themselves with the new Azera. I personally think Azera is the most bang for the buck in terms of power, luxury, looks and reliability.

P.S. I will try to take pics of my Z and post the pics soon.
Thanks again for helping.

cost me $500 to have stress cracks on my bumper fixed and repainted. figured the hatch would be about the same. even took it to a large nationwide bodyshop.

+1. I'm in the same boat as you. the previous owner put a nismo wing on and its not my style, however its not worth the money to remove it so I'm pretty much stuck with it.

Trading in the Z for a Hyundai, ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!? I am at the opposite end of this as I just bought a set of 19" Hyperblack ADR M-SPORT and Nismo wing, ditching the OEM 18"s and lip spoiler. To each his own I guess

decent car or not, I'd never be willing to take the depreciation you'll eat on a hyundai unless you plan on keeping it till you can collect social security (which in most folks case will be never).

I have the OEM spoiler and I'm so desperate for the Nismo spoiler! I'm gonna ask a counter question here. Is the OEM spoiler drilled to the trunk or its really just "glued" on the trunk like what someone stated here? If I remove the OEM spoiler, does the trunk need to get repainted since the part underneath the OEM spoiler might be unpainted?

and yes the OEM is drilled on.

on option you might want to consider is the V2 nismo spoiler. it is pricey but there is a replica for 499. it would cover all possible holes left by the oem spoiler

A friend of mine suggested that I just leave the OEM spoiler on and put the Nismo spoiler on as well! He said they both should fit on the trunk. My question is, had anyone done this? Would it look really ugly?

Default pics of my ride, need carwash

I would love to get dealer oem spoiler, 2006 track rim, and nismo exhaust. After that I wouldn't touch my car. Personally I think this set up is the cleanest Z u can ever make.

Default Mine is black

My nismo spoiler is black, and it seems like covering the holes, repainting them, and drill new holes for oem spoilers...too much work.

Actually 3M double sided tape should hold that OEM spoiler on just fine, I would'nt bother drilling any holes, there are other people on this board who have done this without problems.
