scott the C-west bumper looks exactly like that. I think u'll get slightly better results by having a vent in the hood near the windshield. looks sharp actually...if the lines were cleaner, i'd love that look.

i think it looks pretty good.
it'll def. help with air flow
just needs some type of trim work to give it a finished look.
some rounded over inside edges or edge molding

Not really doing it for me. I've seen guys with DSM's do the same thing and it always ends up looking cheap in the end.
If you wanted to really go all out with something you could market, maybe you could get someone to mold a full polyurethane front bumper based on the nismo full bumper, that would include a larger front air dam (stock looking) that extends upward, and also includes the nismo-style lip molded in.

ya rick, if i was going to buy one, the c-west or vertex is what i was going to get. i actually have ton of experience with fiberglass and could make what ever i wanted. i have almost gone into production for a kit i did for my vette. but it was so intense, not so sure people would pay the 6k i would have to ask for it though, lol.
maybe i could build a prototype SVRTech nose and get with someone who is currently producing replica kits and produce something. if ya can't tell, i really just like to build my own stuff and be completely original.

Also the Weber Sports looks like it does the same.
Eitherway, I do like how it came out. Except from the pic the vents don't look perfectly symetrical. The far right one looks a lil funny. It could be the angle or it could just be me.
But all in all, good idea.

If I were doing this to my car I would probably do this:
Add about 3/4 of an inch of material (like fiberglass or something flexible) on the inside of the bumper in the area under modification.
Make the cutouts that would line up with the sides of the air inled and somehow line up with the 2 grooves on the hood. BTW, I love how it goes around the emblem. Remove the grill as well.
Cut out both reflectors. If you need an oil cooler, put it behind one of them.
Remove the front licence plate. Mount it on the side where the other reflector was.
Smooth out the inside of the cutouts. Repaint the whole bumper.
Add flat black mesh behind the cutouts, where the reflectors used to be and inside the air inlet. Make sure that the grid is large enough to actually show off the FMIC. (similar mesh like on the EVOs).
This will not look right without a lip though.
What do you think? Original, original and nice or major rice?

see now oleg, this is the main reason i posted this, to get people thinking about what can be done to improve the airflow in the front.
best thing to do is just do it and see. if you like it great, if not, a used or new bumper isn't too much or will give you an excuse to buy a body kit, hahaa. this was my logic atleast, lol.

I agree with others about finishing the edges somehow.
