Default Okay I may have another source for burnt orange goodies!!!

After waiting over 2 months since my last post, I have nearly given up my search on finding a reasonably priced burnt orange ebrake handle. I found this Japanese store call Datsun Freeway located outside of Tokyo which sells all the burnt orange accessories we have been wanting (steering wheel, shift ****, and ebrake handle). They even sell 2 tone (black and burnt orange) shift ***** and ebrake handle. It is actually pretty funny to see that they sell primarily OEM stuff from the US and Europe (I guess there is a demand in Japan for them). Also since they list the burnt orange accessories as European (not JDM), I guess this is why Jason is having a hard time finding out the pricing from his Japanese source.

Check here for a complete list of their products:

Complete Product List

Here is the burnt orange ebarke handle that I've been wanting to get my hands on:

Here is the burnt orange steering wheel:

Steering Wheel

Here is the burnt orange shift ****:

Shift ****

Here is their own Datsun-Freeway variation on the steering wheel:

DF Steering Wheel

Last but not least, here is their own Datsun-Freeway 2 tone variation on the shift **** (which imho would look great in a roadster):

DF 2 Tone Shift *****

The good news is that the prices in yen are very reasonable (e.g. ebrake handle is approximately 156 USD). Now here is the bad news, I've try to contact them via email twice (to 2 separate email addresses listed under the Japanese and the English version of the web site) and have not gotten a response. Their English web site is fairly new so they may not be checking their emails or they simply do not read any emails written in English.

We should definitely try to get in contact with them to see if they would ship to us in the U.S. and possibly do a group purchase.

Can anyone with Japanese contacts or Japanese speaking skill help??? Better yet maybe one of members in Japan may be kind enough to find out for us.

Here is pic of their 2 tone steering wheel, shift **** and ebrake handle installed:

Oh you should have let me know earlier! I could have pointed you there! In fact, I was just looking at the website last week since I was thinking about getting the two-tone steering wheel and shift **** (not the e-brake though...).

But they've been up for a long time, at least for a year and a half. If they haven't answered your emails, then I don't know what you should do. I never tried contacting them myself. Someone writing them an email in Japanese may possibly help?

Haha we are on the same wavelength again...scary isn't it? Yeah I am thinking either we have to write an email in Japanese or actually directly call the store. If anyone local in Socal can speak Japanese, I am willing to pay for the call and a free meal

Thanks for the offer. Okay, with my limited Japanese, I think you would need to do a core exchange for the DF brand products. So my list would be:

1. GT3 - Euro-spec burnt orange steering wheel and ebrake

I wonder if products are available without perforations?

If so:

1. GT3 - Euro-spec burnt orange steering wheel and ebrake
2. buzzardmountain - DF BO steering wheel(BO on sides of steering wheel-not euro spec/style) and ebrake

Edit-Otherwise I need to think about it, the perforations don't match my set-up

BTW, good find. I'd all but given up on Performance getting prices.

It looks like it comes with the perforations...even the OEM ones have some perforations on the sides of the ebrake handle and the steering wheel. The perforated ones show still match as our seats are perforated. But may be you can specify it since it is custom. I wonder how you ask that in Japanese?

Here is a good close up of the oem steering wheel and the DF brand showing the perforations.

I hadn't seen a pic up close of the OEM ones to see their perforations before. My BO interior is aftermarket. I'd rather have it be "smooth" leather, but, would consider buying otherwise. We need someone who speaks Japanese!

I had some contact with them about a year ago. Prices are high after shipping etc. You must persevere with the communication, the English they use is limited.

Example: Rear fog light, harness and switch, $230 plus shipping. Can get the same kit from the 350zsource for $179 plus shipping.

Some items are more expensive from Europe than from Japan even tho they are European parts. In these cases, like the BO parts, you are better off buying from Datsun Freeway, or having the parts custom made.

I've dealt with them before...they offer very nice quality parts. Some of their prices are insane...but in many cases, they are the only ones in the world who can actually supply them. Such was the case with the last parts I got (which I cannot even find at the moment!) - the JDM front turn signal lenses for my 280ZX
