I have a Veilside question. I just bought the V1 lip, I noticed that in the center there is a small rectanglular cut out. It's not all the way through. What is that for.

 

Can you post a pic? Don't recall seeing anything like that on mine...

 

I don't have it on yet and it is at the paint shop waiting to be painted. Where this cut out is right in the center under the grill. It is the size of a domino piece.

 

Umm... that's odd. Is the lip authentic? What material is it made of? That's where the embossed Veilside logo should be.

 

Fiberglass, yes it came from Veilside.
Is there supposed to be a logo there? I dont see it there on any other pics. Do you have a V1?

You know, I just had a thought... this domino sized cutout you refer to... is it an actual hole in the piece or a recessed area that looks like something could go there? I've seen that on thier front bumpers and spoilers; it's for the stone Veilside emblem (very cool; they come in diff. colors as well. Never seen this on a lip, though (and frankly think it'd look odd there); I wonder if they changed it? When did you get it and where from, exactly?

If that is indeed what it is, you can either go the emblem route or have the body shop fil it in for a clean look.

 

I purchased the same v1 fiberglass lip you are talking about. The rectangular indentation is for a veilside emblem to be attached (it should have come with the spoiler itself). I'll take a pic later when i get home from work.

I found the emblem, it looks kinda fukn stupid and like an add for Veilside. I bought this lip from a legit vendor. The box it came in said Veilside.

 

Here are a few pics i took, i was surprised when it looked like this but its not bad. It is authentic veilside tho, its marked, numbered on the other side.

 

thats really odd. maybe veilside changed to this b/c they realized lots of folks were shaving off the raised lettering???

 

With that ugly thing, I think lots of people will be leaving it off and filling the indentation...

 

When it is painted over, you barely notice the indentation. I have the fiberglass version, so im not sure if this is a new model of the V1 or the CF or urethane ones are like this. Fitment was decent, but the sides were a ***** to get on, some grinding was required to line up properly. Looks 100% better than plain old stock IMO tho.

 

I got the urethane and it doesn't has that emblem. Im thinking these must be the new batch Veilside USA is making. any vendors out there want to confirm?

 

its being done to all veilside parts, except urethane. Thanks to copies. you can't buy the emblems.

I don't buy that reasoning. The copies don't replicate the the embossed logo, anyway.
