Yeah, if it's not vented then it's nearly pointless. I don't want a CF myself...but I need the vents to keep my engine bay temps down. So I might be getting one for that reason, but definitely not for looks.

How can anyone say that a cf hood is rice since im sure weve all seen really nice cars with cf hoods on them where the cf hood wasnt clashing with the look of the car and actually looked good. Cf= rice when the the money could have been used to repair a damaged part of the car instead or whatever imo. if i see a beater rolling around with a cf hood i say wow, rice..but a nice z, i saw wow nice!

...maybe I'm bias on this but I think black carbon fiber only looks good on a black car. I did see a white one with a gold carbon fiber kit that was hot.....then the guy totaled it, (AAM meet). It just has to be done right, it can't be pieces here and there. It would look good a red one with the hood, roof, A pillars, and trunk but just a hood and a rear spoiler would look out of place. Just my 2cs

I have to agree it depends on a few factors and finding a happy medium.
I guess a cf may be needed to fit some engine mods, I don't think they sell a light weight z hood other than fiber. Some people paint cf which is fine, they still gain the light weight. Me, I would rock the cf, I'd have it buffed and clear coated to a max shine though.

Dont ever go to Crystal Cove on Saturday mornings, youd prolly be disgusted with all the ferraris/lambos and their cf additions...

CF hoods are rice. I was just wondering what some of you thought about cf hoods. I am getting a new z, a white one, and was thinking of adding a cf hood. I only do mods that will increase performance in some way. I have never cared about looks or how the exhaust sounds.
So how much weight reduction will you see with a cf hood over stock?

if you dont like it, dont rock it.
CF when tastefully done can make or break a car's look.
