I just had my local dealer install the Nismo shift ****, however it is making alot of rattling noises. It makes the noises whenever i move the shifter, whenever there is tranny vibration, or whenever i shift in/out of gear. I don't think this is to be expected, however I just want confirmation. Is this something that the dealer can easily fix?

ok yeah ive had 4 different nismo ***** and sometimes during high revs i do get a little vibration. but you are describing something more severe. im aware of this rattle problem with some of the Carbon fiber ***** but since the aluminum is one solid piece im not sure what causing your rattle.
is the shifter tight where you cant move it at all? see the OEM **** is sprayed with lock-tite from the factory. the nismo's arnt maybe you could spray a little on the threading, you shouldnt be able to move it.
but like i said my Titanium GT is very tight and i still get a faint rattle at over 5K rpms

i can twist mine off it i really try, but under normal shifting it shouldnt move at all. it only goes on one way, but you might want to hold the base where the leather boot its and try to give it on more turn, as soon as you feel the shift pole almost starting to turn STOP, you know its tight enough
if that doesnt work, maybe have the dealer replace it

I just tried it, i can twist it but its also twisting the boot. Im getting a new leather shift boot sent to me. I will see what I can do then, if I cant fix it then I will take it to the dealer.
