EVO-R V2 front bumper with Carbon Canards
Guys - Look at the two bumpers. In one of Jay's response, he compares the two. The replica is not predrilled for any of the mount points. I do not know Jay at all but willing to give him credit for putting this out.
Unless you have first hand knowledge of bad dealings, give Jay the benefit of member support. If he does not deliver, call it out then. For now, sit tight and let JDMZ33/Jay do his thing like we did for Punksterz626/Tommy is his GB.
Peace and goodwill members!

Evo-R's stuff is top notch man... i would expect Jay's stuff to be as close 1:1 as their originals. Gel coat and glossy finishings isnt hard to do- it just takes the extra step in Quality Control & Mfg.
also: TiPlace. just cuz its made in taiwan doesnt mean it's crap. there's alot of high quality stuff that comes out from there. dont knock it unless you own it.

Sam,
I do agree with you as well as I am the person who likes to use geniune parts too... even down to the last bolt from Nissan... And guess how much I paid for my V1? I paid nearly 2K on it by air express... You are correct that everyone is to its own because that's your car and its the value you see in your car too... I am as picky as you (not in car detailing that part :P)... I will still not put a V2 bumper (either geniune or copy) on my car because I still love my V1, probably it is just an aussie thing as not many aussies express their interests on the V2 just yet...
There are already good fitment ABS/urethane material V1 bumper from the USA, perfect fitment though... I was surprised you didn't go for that... but once again, I would have gone for the crappy FRP because it is a geniune part...
Having say that, all evo-r quality can seriously be compared to the geniune products and many famous japanese products are actually made by those manufacturers who are not in Japan... e.g. people are paying 2K+ for an Amuse ti exhaust which is really made in Taiwan... and if a customer doesnt know about that, he is still very happy to pay for that amount because it is an Amuse item... and to be honest, I never care much how cheap or how expensive the copy stuffs cost and how much other people get their knock-off bumpers compare to my geniune one (even before I came into this biz), because it is just like what you said.... its your car and you put values into what you spend... And a lot of people would like to spend a lot less for the same product not because they cannot afford it, it is just that they don't see the value in it by paying that much...
That's also why Yahoo Japan Auction is there for people like me as I don't necessary need to buy a brand new item which are way too expensive... but you will not want to buy parts from there because you like to own it from brand new since you want to take care of it from day 1... as second hand items might be damaged or the quality might not be as good as it should be already...
When I got into EVO-R and doing business with Jay... he told me... there is no point having even a product released if the quality is bad... so believe in us because if we don't feel confident with the quality, we will not even go ahead to make those items...
cheers,
richie

Why is there so much controversy over this product?!
Let's get back on topic - You don't like it, move on. You like it, talk about paint and installation and how it's going to make our Zs look bad a$$.
Based on the PShop Tony did, I am definitely going for the RS Concept look. Any one check out Dimeryder's install yet? He's got the grille and canards in black, and the rest in silver. Along with the CF hood, Dimeryder's install is looking mighty darn good. We should picture share each others' finished Z to show off v2 love. Any one going for the v2 wing as well? It's big!
Enjoy!

yeah Rich i think itll take a while for the Aussie's to show love for the V2
i like the look of the grille part, but without the canards it looks a bit too full on, and i do like having the led sidemarkers to match the 06 headlight leds. Plus it's hard enough for me getting up driveways with the V1, let alone the V2 with even larger front overhang
exactly. I went the genuine kit because there was no risk of having a poor fit or poor quality. Big companies like Nismo, Amuse etc have a reputation to maintain, they wont risk that with 1 bad fit bumper out of every 30 moulds. Buying copies is often a hit and miss, and we see it here all the time, some guys rave fit was perfect, others say they copped a dud - and with urethane theres not much you can do if the fit is off
Its hard to buy something from overseas just based on pics and user reviews, something to that value you'd like some assurance it will look good, especially after paying more for shipping that the actual part. That's the same reason i wont ever import a seibon hood, even though i absolutely love the look of the VS-II. In hindsight urethane would have been better material, but id still rather the genuine part even if it is FRP. It just means ill have to get it resprayed every 6-12 months - im cool with that

The Fast Intentions Intimidator exhaust was going to be my first mod but missed out on the gb. Got on the v2 bumper gb instead. For now, it's going to be show first then go later. Kinda blows my inconspicuous modding strategy.
