Default DIY Front License Mount

Can we have too many options?

Here is one I came up with - The Bungee Mount.

Inexpensive (under $8.00 in parts less a frame).

Convenient (can be removed and reinstalled at will)

Non-Intrusive (no drilling or any other type of disfiguring of your Z required).

Everything you need is at your local mom-and-pop hardware store.

Attached is a pic of the parts required. My signature shows the final product. Complete parts list/instructions are in the Gallery at 350zfrenzy.com, located here

Nice job Scafremon - thanks for the very descriptive photo panel showing how you fit this to your car. Seems to be the best front plate fit so far although I was wondering if the bungie cords scrape or damage the grill as they are attached to it?

As a Texas resident, I've been looking at different options for my front plate and your solution looks to be the cleanest/easiest. $8.00 would be alot cheaper than the $50 plus for the ticket I risk getting every time I drive without a front plate.

Very creative and it looks great. I'm waiting for delivery of AudioPat's bracket... don't mid drilling the two 1/4 inch holes along side of the tow hook. I think that will leave less long term marking if I wanted to sell the car in a non front plate location. Bit I still love these creations!

I put about 300 miles on my car with the plate mounted in this fashion (and without the vinyl nose mask on), and it didn't leave any marks on the car. But, I do have 'edge guard' on my grill, so I think that protected the grill piece from getting any scratches. Without the edge gaurd, I'd recommend some foam tape on the back of the plate, maybe a few strips, creating a 'groove' for the grill to fit into.

The bungee cords themselves do not scrape on the grill, as only the cord part touches it. The hooks on the bungee attach to the eyebolts.

Even though the edge of the license frame hasn't left any marks on my bumper, I'm going to add some foam tape to top/bottom of the license frame, just to be safe.
