Default Question about antenna

I have a question about a S2000 or shorty antenna. I have had them on previous cars and have had them stolen twice. Will putting locktight on the threads mess the reception up. Has anyone else had this problem?

It should not be a problem. It might **** off the theive and he might do more damage to your car. It's sad to say this, but this is often the case. Just unscrew it and leave it on the floor board, when in bad areas of your town. Good Luck!

+1 to unscrewing it when you leave your car. If you put a loctite on there, someone might decide to try and snap it off once they realize they aren't going to be able to unscrew it and create more damage.

ok so i have another question. Can I take the male thread from the stock antenna without damaging it? The reason I ask is because the antenna I have is a female threaded piece. The antenna came off another Z a 05 as a matter of fact and when we unscrewed it the male portion was stuck in the antenna spot on the car. Anyone who can make any sense of this it would be appreciated.

If the male portion is sticking out, just use a soft cloth and some vise grips and gently (key word Gently) bite it just enough to screw it out.
