I wonder what a blacked out headlight unit would look on a Lemans Sunset car. If I were to get the 06 headlight, I'd definately send it to mrzipps to get that turn signal box thing taken out. Might as well black it out at the same time.

And Nitrouz, what do you get when you order the 06 headlights, does it come with all the bulbs? Does it come with wiring? I heard the signal bulbs are different from 03-05 to 06. More details would be appreciated.

I'll take a stab at this since he's out of the country at the moment...

The 06 headlights are plug-n-play so long as you have the HID 03-05 headlights which he did. When purchasing the headlights, I believe it comes with everything you need except for the wiring harness & bulbs (might want to contact someone at Performance Nissan to confirm).

And should i just tell the bodyshop to paint them red / glossy like the rest of the car? Someone mentioned that glossy paint might reflect back, but i think that matte red paint would look really cheap. Suggestions? Pics of the setup i saw are below:

Its okay to go through with it, however you will lose some light output since the low beam is a projector/reflector combo. Let me know if you havey any questions buddy.

just remember to leave the headlights open for 3+ days for paint to dry otherwise you get that chameleon like gasey film inside ur headlight. Take a look at those pics, you'll see what I mean.

So you are basically paying for the housing? You have to buy your own D2S bulbs as well!? Since the 03-05 uses D2R bulbs. That's like another $200 bucks on top of the headlight housing.

Just confirmed with PN. It comes with everything you need (including the bulbs) & is plug-n-play so long as you previously have the 03-05 HID setup.

Thats not true. The " Chameleon gasey film" is appearent most likely because the pictures were shot with a polarized lens.

A Polarized lens will always have that effect on a headlamp lens.

However its possble to see it in person, or even with a normal lens. Headlamps are trick, tricky to take pics of.

Its normal Creationv2

The Polarized lens does exagerate it, but I do notice a slight chameleon film during mid day at certain angles up close... but its rather minor and didn't notice it at any other time of the day...

okay another dumb question....so when you get the headlights painted....you have to do the oven process first and then give them the housing right? or can you just give the whole housing lens and all and they will do it?

Bodyshops do not do this type of work.

You can contact me if you want more info.

Or check out the site, www.lightwerkz.net
