SEIBON VSII Hey! there's A HOLE in my hood!!!
K, so it's supposed to be there! What do you guys think?
I got it from Jim @ CarbonLTD. Definitely, one of the easiest transactions on the net I've ever had. If you're thinking about it...stop, and just DO it! It took a lil' bit to get it, but overall great transactions...Thanks again JIM.
Now fitment: ALMOST perfect fitment. My cousin and I put it on in about 15 mins. No problems, until we tried to shut it... And maybe I was babying it since it was brand new, but the hood latch spring is a lil' tight so we had to take it out, but this caused the latch to move freely. It had to be set each time we wanted to close the hood. Ok, no biggie...changed out the spring to lower tension one from Home Depot. $2.13 for 2. After that..no hitches!
On to the Sparco Hood Pins...OMG! you would think they were an easy install! We all know the rule measure twice...LOL. We did it finally, it took us about 4 hours to get them to shut correctly...
a few things we did to save the hood:
1. tape off the area we were going to drill to keep the fraying to a minimum.
2. put rags or a beach towel over the engine, cover the filter to reduce the amount of drill dust falling onto the engine/filter.
3. before drilling: measure 2 x...then...measure another 2 x...then think about starting LOL. It was scary drilling into a brand new CF hood...
4. Take your time...not a lot of room for error when doing this part of the hood install.
I'll post some more pix when the car is cleaned up and during the day.
All opinions and comments, good and bad, welcomed.
thanks! Gargoyle
