What kind of suede did you go with? I believe in "you get what you pay for". Alcantara suede (used by Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc) costs $100/yard. I was quoted $800 for a black Alcantara suede headliner in my G. The suede was only worth $400 tops in my mind. So I didn't go through.

Well, today I'm installing Alcantara suede from the A-pillar back to the C-pillar. The color matches the DG pretty well. The "Oh poop" handle and business card holder will be shaved. So wil the sun-glasses holder. The visors are done in suede and so is the moonroof. I'll post pictures later tonight.

I forgot to mention that it still looks sweet though. Dye the trim and you will be set.

It's possible to wrap them. My shop did. I need to post pics of them folded down. They had to glue some of the material together. The glued seam is on the mirror side, it's only visible with the visors folded down. I never use them so it's of no concern to me.

It looks, feels, and smells like real animal hide suede. I purchased it at a Fabric store on Long Island. we did the install right next to my friends audi rs6 which has suede headliner stock. if you sat in the audi, then my car, you couldnt tell a difference in material. so if that means anything.

These are the pictures from the car I took the suede out of. We switched interiors, but we have the exact same interior...so this is how it looks in my car.

That looks great!

How easy/hard was it to take out the headliner? I've tried to get mine out (and I even have the service manual), and there's a copnnector somewhere in the middle of the roof that I couldn't figure out how to disconnect (didn't want to run the risk of breaking it). Does it just pop off with enough force?

The aftermarket suede headliners all look great! Since this is not an area which will get dirty too easily, I wonder if the difference in material and quality between the cheaper suede and the alcantera will be worth the price difference.

Thanks. Well, these pictures are from the car we took the suede out of. He has the exact same car as I do ('04 Diamond Graphite/Graphite coupe), so this is exactly how it looks in my car...asides from a few things. I put the rubber stripping around the sunroof and we also put back in the seat belt guide plates for the rear seats (he didn't use them and it looked cleaner).

Since he had prior experience to doing this, it was easy! It took us 2 hours to take out the stock interior and replace everything with the suede (A-Pillars, B-Pillars, and C-Pillars, headliner, sunroof, visors, front doors and rear seat pieces). I love ripping apart this car.

All interior pieces snap in with connectors, aside from the sunroof of course. So you just have to use some force to rip out the pieces.

I guess he got hooked up on the material and installation, so he wouldn't tell me how much he payed. When he first tried to sell it to me, he wanted $700. A few weeks after no one bought it, I ended up giving him $350 for it.

I am in NY. If anybody wants their headliner done, but is not handy with those kinds of things I am willing to do the complete install. PM me and we can work something out.

Bump for an update on how it's held up. I've read that the 3m adhesive will come off after a while, have you had any problems with yours? Thanks
