Default Will this cubby work

I have a 7" fahrenheit screen that I want to hook up for DVD playing. I have a 2006 base model. So obviously I have the flip lid cubby thats real tiny, with no nav. Soooo question is can I install this cubby in my 06 base so I can fit the 7" monitor in it.

Sorry if this has been gone over before. I never really inquired about this sort of thing and wanted a quick answer

thanks

That's just the cover and it motorized as opposed to our manual cover.

It won't change the cubby. There are quite a few posts on here and it is possible to install a fixed screen in the cubby, but there have been issues with gaps on the sides. I'm considering the same kind of setup.

So your saying we will just need to buy a smaller screen to fit the smaller cubby? If so....what screen is the most common people are fitting into the 06

I honestly don't think there's a "most common"... pretty much whatever fits your budget and your cubby. Hopefully some of the guys that have actually done it will chime in here soon.

check the audio/video section, some guy posted what you need to buy to make the screen fit on '04-'06 Z's (buying the '03 cubby).

Someone posted how they motorized their cubby with another part and a small circuit. I think there are links to it in the other 06 cubby post some place.

The problem with using an 03 in the 06 is that the parts don't fit together quite right. This is a different issue than the 04-05 where the lid just has a different color. Not to say it has not been done but the 03/06 combo appearance leaves a bit to be desired because of gaps.

Also, at some point the 06 went to the duck bill, no lid, style nav (probably to save on warranty issues with the motorized ones getting stuck). Someone here bought that whole section and was going to screen it but I don't remember if he ever finished that project.
