Default Arrrggghhh!! need to vent(accident)

Damnit man!! What a way to start my morning. I'm on my way to work heading westbound on I10 going about 60-65 when this white van zooms by me. I was thinking, man this guy is going to get in a accident .

Little did I know that up the road I was going to be involve in it . You see theres a lot of construction on the freeway and theres two areas where the road curves pretty bad. On the first one the van was swerving real bad and you could see him jumping lanes. On the following one I move to the left and he gets stuck behind some guy in an explorer.

Well coming around the little bend, traffic is stopping due to an accident . I see the van did not pay attention and proceeded to speed and try to get around us and then realized that traffic was coming to a halt and hit his brakes hard and pulled back and hit the explorer and sent the suv towards my pasenger door.

This sux I have not even had my car for two months and this crap happens. Whats worst is I was so caught up in calling my wife(letting her know I was fine) that i forgot to get the info from the other drivers and the cop didnt exchange it for us. My fault for not asking, now I have to wait 3-4 days for my case to appear so I can get a copy and proceed with this crap.

Well anyways on to the pics.

Be sure to tell the insurance you want to fix it yourself. My accident was WAY worse and my insurance sent me a check after i told them i was doing all the repairs myself. You can buy just about all the parts and panels you need right here for WAY WAY less than a body shop will charge you and/or you can get after market stuff. Or... You can just drive around like that and pocket the money for a rainy day? Just a suggestion.

Sorry to hear. Looking back, was there any way you could have avoided this accident? Like maybe if you saw him speeding like that, you would've slowed down and purposely let him get in front of you and not to the side/behind you? That's what I do everytime I see someone driving retarded, but I don't know exactly what conditions/traffic was like for you.

Thanks for the advice. Now does anyone know where I can find a passenger door cheap or should I just get it repaired? Well the good thing about the car being black it hides it pretty well from certain angles just the middle part shows the most..

Most of the time people posting their accident storys are people who are running into other cars or stationary objects like curbs, walls, and even a house.

Nice to hear someone got hit for once ... sorry it had to be you.

I occassionally see these suspect drivers with the cell phone in their ear, music up too loud to hear a horn, and mind somewhere other that traffic ... and avoid them big time. Sounds like it was just your time.

At least it wasn't caused by an uninsured/documented driver right?

That sucks man, at least the damage is mostly cosmetic from the looks of it. I can't imagine you got frame damage from something that minor.

You might try www.rockauto.com they may be able to help.

If that doesn't work let me know. I may be able to source it out for you.

Good Luck!!!!

Glad to hear your ok meaj82, pity about the Z. It looks pretty minor, you can't see the frame of the side intrusion bars. Good luck with the repair.
