Default Body Kits and maintenance

Hello All,

I was planning on putting a full bodykit on my 2006 350Z. Wondering if there are any issues or problems when it comes time to oil changes or warranty fixes due to problems with getting the car on the hoist without damaging the body kit's plastic/fibreglass/polyeurethane etc..

It depends on your ground clearance with the bodykit. It would also depend on the bodykit material. In my case, the car sits very low with an FRP kit and there is no way I would ever take it to Nissan for any work. The risk is too high. For oil changes you need very low profile ramps just to lift the car enough to get a hydraulic jack underneath.

You might run into problems going to shops that don't deal too much with lowered or modded cars. Not too big of a deal though.

just make sure any shop you go to has a 2 point lift and you should be fine. for doing work at home, just roll up on some 2x8's to get a little more clearance and then use a low pro jack to get her in the air. warranty will have nothing to do with your body kit.

Oh God, so true!

My advice, if the car is a toy, weekend cruiser, or show queen, go ahead and do it. But if she is a daily driver, it will suck all the fun out of the car.
