Default Splash Guards

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I was hoping some of you have already removed your splash guards. I hate them, but haven't been able to find a single car without them. Dealer's forcing you to buy ******** add-ons with your order I guess.

Is it easy to take them off? And what about the mounting holes or tape that they had. Have they done any damage to the paint or the fender or the wheel wells?

Thanks. Andy

SORRY. I just saw the same question below!

I like the look of the splash guard on my Z. I don't know..
Is it only me who has this preference?

I think the fronts look cool, but the rears look like ***, IMO.

I don't doubt that they serve some role in keeping the body clean, but I have a more purist taste. That is, I like the clean lines of the car without the guards.

And without trying to insult anyone in here, I just think they look like a cheap after-thought from the factory! That's the part that really bothers me. The factory and dealers should leave them as OPTIONS, not make them standard on every car they make. Kind of the same feeling I get when I see a dealer put a stupid sticker on the back of your new car!

Just my opinion, but I want a car without the guards or dealer sticker.

Not all cars have the factory guards. Take a look at some of the dealer inventories online and you'll see.

I live in North Jersey and that is exactly how I found out all the cars have the guards.

I was told by NNA they are a port installed item on every car in my region. This excludes preordered cars.

The dealer said the same thing. I'm still not quite sure who has the correct information, NNA or dealers.

btw, I'm in Michigan and I want to take mine off.

One of the dealers mentioned that they were a port-installed factory option. I never considered it was a regional issue.

Oh well, the search stops I guess.

Talking splash guard

I actually prefer the splash guard. When i purchased my z, it did not come with it and after few months of driving, i started to notice small chips around the rear bumper area. also, the water splashing during the rain was really annoying. so, i purchased the guard and had them installed. i really actually love them.
