Default Angel eyes "Halo"

Hello all...
I am a 2005 Z Touring owner since last week... I wanted a Z since ever, now the dream came true and i am ready for the mods I am in this forum for a long time, but this is from my first posts.....
Among many questions, i have 2 that belong in the "electrical threads"
So 1) If i wanna change the stock Xenon bulbs and put the 10000K ones, is that possible, and if yes, any good places to get them??
2) I searched the forum, and online and it seems nobody has moded the Z (or no modded headlights sold online) that have "Halo 'angel' eyes" u know like the bimmers do... Is it cause it loos stupid, or cause nobody thought about it or cause maybe putting a CCFL inside the headlight assembly it might malfunction/melt... any ideas? I was thinking of just trying it, do the oven thing that people describe here, open the headlights up and trying to install them to see the outcome...
Suggestions, Objections, ideas???

Btw.. very very nice forum, informative... i am here almost 24/7

i personally don't think out headlights have the right look to make angel eyes work. Our headlights have kind of an odd angular shape overall, and angel eyes would look a little off in that type of scheme. Now in older bimmers with fairly straightforward projector lamps, it looks good.

There was guy on the sister G35 site that did conversions, but i'm not sure if he's still doing it. Apparently the quality was good but not consistent. I believe he referred to them as "demon" eyes.

+1 the higher rating doesn't mean the bulbs will be brighter. It will be much darker than the stock HID's.

lol what kind of angels eyes did you get? i have angels on mine and they work just fine. ZKW ftw. anyways, dont put angel eyes on a Z... imo they only belong on bimmers. its always a slap in the face when you see some ricer crusing on the freeway and see that his civic has the worst possible halos/angels i've ever seen!

old pic of mine...

Truth be told, the Halos on your E36 look just as bad as most riced out civics.

Most headlight housings do not compliment the halo very well ... save for a few of the BMW models.

Regardless ... I think this mod is quite tacky and should be avoided on the Z.

How is it any different than the above E36 with rice-lights on it. And don't try and argue that it is ok since it is a BMW. The fact is .. it doesn't and never has come like that .. this is a riced-out retrofit that looks as tacky above as it does on most other cars.

This is about equivalent to a Sentra with GT-R badging.

I pm'd you because I don't want to get into a hollaring match with other members who don't believe in 10,000K bulbs because they think they know it all but from experience I've used 10,000K bulbs and yes you lose some intensity but not that much. I've used 10,000K {violet} and was very please with the color and brightness. You can go to Xtralights.com for these as they give you a 1 year warranty and are very friendly to deal with. I believe they are $199.00 a pair. Enjoy your new 10,000K's.
