Anyone else turning their seat heaters off/on with their right arm?
Just seems like a bad spot for the switches. I'm constantly toggling them when I shift.

yeah its been mentioned before, personally my arm rests between the console and the hand brake, so no problems, but my dads a bit more broad shouldered, and he hits it.
you could consider fabricating some sort of raised panel around them to keep them from getting pushed when you bang them, just a small frame for them so their recessed rather than sticking out.

I thought that was your question.

I was always hitting the drivers side switch with my elbow, so I moved the two switches one spot to the right. There are three holes in the center console for the switches, and the blank one was on the right side. I moved them over so the blank one is on the left now, and my elbow hits it instead. I haven't had any problems since.
Tearing apart the center console isn't too hard of a job if you are somewhat mechanical. I think there are some threads around here detailing how to do it, in the stereo section probably.

Cover 'em or move 'em?
I posted a thread about three weeks ago asking for ideas on constructing a cover plate, as Ares suggested. I made a couple, but wasn't happy with them. Someone replied with an idea, showing the page in the shop manual where it has a factory cover plate for the switches. Well, I looked into it, special ordered it, and got it today. It's P/N 68493-CD000, switch mask, and it lists for about $7. It looks about the same as the upper console, that faux-carbon fiber grey, but it isn't suitable to do what I wanted, which was have an easily removable cover that loked decent. It's actually a filler plate that sits flush into the hole with all switches removed, and it can't really be modified to work how I wanted. But since I was ripping my console apart anyway to see how I could mount it, I just moved the switches over to the right and put the dead plate where my elbow hits. Hopefully, problem solved, with the best look, and no special mods. But it's a ***** to get the console apart, since you have to remove the shift ****, and it's probably got a whole bunch of red Loctite on the threads. Red being the "permanent" stuff, makes it rather hard to get the **** off. So good luck, or do the easy thing-Take it to the dealer where you bought it and see if they'll do it for nothing. Tell them you are unsatisfied with the car because of it, and they just might do it for nothing. Or they just might charge you an arm and a leg. Who knows?

Anyone have any idea what the extra blank switch position is for? I have a Touring model with every option and I just don't care for a blank switch position. I may just buy another switch and put it in there. It is admittedly, only a slight irritation.
The biggest irritation that I have with the car is the flat Bose system. I have the bass at +5 and I just can't seem to get any real bass out of the system. The 6 disc CD stereo system that I had in my 2001 Pontiac minivan sounded a helluva lot better.
