Default New paint FYI

Just had my rear bumber replaced. As I was leaving the body shop I asked when it would be okay to wax it. The guy said three months!! He explained that waxes have silicone that can hinder the curing process.

thats true, paint takes time 2 dry, considering that the oem paint was baked on, and also sat in the warehouse for a couple months as well, new paint (sprayed on) takes time 2 dry, u hav 2 b careful w/ it, because underneathe the clearcoat its not fully hardened

I was only told for a month and started waxing exactly 30 days later. No problems though. Unless there's different kinds of paint a clearcoat out there. But I would still listen to him. What's 3 months anyways.

It depends on what kind of wax you use. Where I used to work we waxed before the car left the shop. Some synthetic waxes you can use. I'm thinking caranuba is about the worst to use.
