I got only 960 miles on my Z and found my fisrt chip in the paint on the front bumper. I do not want a bra, how can i protect my paint job so it does not look bad in 10k miles?

Or use "Clear bra" to search, I agree that it is the best bet to avoid the damage and not have the unsightly black bra.

I myself got three chips within the first two weeks of owning my Z then I started using rain X Ultra car wax it is very slippery, it has been months now and I have not gotten one more chip. It may be just a coincidence but I doubt it I also wax the windshield. Plus it helps to keep back from high-speed traffic.

Default need more info on clear bra

Got some questions about clear bra:

1. Does anyone have it on their Z or other car? How much did it cost to have put on front of Z?
2. I am worried about yellowing. It has a 2 year warranty, has anyone had this product long enough to see how it holds up?
3. Can you see where it ends, is there a seam?

I e-mailed them but want an outside opinion. Of course they will say the product is the best thing since pop up toasters where invented.

Thanks, Jeff

Prices differ based on kit and city but they range from 400-800. The kit on the bumper is virtually invisible as it goes to an edge and being low it really helps, if done properly you wont be able to tell it is there. As for the hood then there are differences in kits all will have the edge going down the middle of the hood but one kit will have visible edges all around the front and side but another will be wraped around the edges so all you see is the back edge, you will pay more for that. Just make sure you get someone that knows what they are doing.

I have had it on for 6 months and no yellowing. You can always remove it and have it redone, doing a couple of times is till cheaper than having the bumper repainted plus you keep chips off, also would you really repaint the bumper for a few chips or just live with it and have chips always.
