ummm lets see, possibility of car cover creating micro scratches on your paint surface, or several pounds of very abrasive snow on your car sliding off causing scrtaches 10x worse then any car cover could

this is one tough choice...

+1

After 4 years of New York winters, the paintjob on my '94 Integra was trashed. Scattered patches lighter, dulled paint showed the effects of snow/salt damage, and the hood and trunk were peppered with little pock marks. I had to repaint the car.

Now you're talking about a Z... I wouldn't leave that car outdoors in the elements for even a single night. Just make sure no one steals your car cover.

Brings me to this question. Little off topic but has anyone had their car cover stolen?

My car is covered whenever it is parked. Takes me less than 5 minutes. The only downside is removing the cover in the rain.

Not to mention a car cover would protect all the trims, that really don't fare well when exposed to the elements constantly.

got mine for $20 at walmart, just to keep the dirt off. Works like a charm.. you may have to get the $40 one to keep the weather out.

Those don't work for crap if it rains or windy out. Invest your $100-$200 and buy the OEM cover. Fits like a glove as seen here and page #1!

^ I don't think it'll cover z's with wings. My $20 cover would've fit like a glove if it wasn't for my veilside 1 wing.

I am NOW considering buying one for my Z, I guess I just care more about this particular car.

However, with that being said, I will be hard pressed to justify a 200$ purchase on a car cover. I know owners with far more expensive/nicer cars than mine, not using OEM covers w/ the same results.

Not saying that the $20 jobber at Walmart is the right answer, but I don't think the 200$ OEM is the ONLY answer....

Nope not a lot of thought. I have used over (5) different car covers on my various vehicles, bar none, the OEM works the best!

The other one, for my wifes Maxima, is a California Car Cover brand, does wonders as well.

Get the Walmart brand, lets just see how it holds up in a rain/snow and wind storm!

Like I said, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

First thing today, I am going to my bank and ask them to tact on another 10K to my car loan so I feel like I got a better car. (your logic, you get what you pay for)

Then I am going to weather.com to check out the forecast here in Florida. If I see snow, I am getting the OEM cover.

LISTEN< get whatever you want to get I could care less!

I bought a $30 cover off a guy off ebay with good feedback and it works great. I don't use it anyomore since I had a garage, but I'm glad I went with it instead of spending $200.

Living in Florida makes things a bit easier too

(aside from the occasional 100+ winds from storms with strange names)

Wolf Car Covers are excellent...I bought the "Noah" with the Block-it Fabric - Breathable, so melted snow doesn't seep onto the car and great sun protection as well. Also, has grommets on both sides for the available security cable and lock, so no one steals it. Less than $200 and very much worth it, IMO.
