The switchs have to be in a certain positon for the car to start. I was also thinking of installing these two swiches with the oem VDC and TCS buttons. I have the base model and neither of these systems just a blank panel. I was thinking when I figure out the keyless part I will order some of these buttons so that I can incorporate the switches to that so no one would know how to get the car to start via the button...
I'm not very familiar with the 06 interiors, but is that compartment you installed it in, the same one as the 04's?? The little change tray that flips open?
I was thinking about installing the button here as well, but I would of course lose the change tray and also I would be concerned about hitting the button while driving...
My button will be arriving in a few days
Cant wait to get this project started!

No it is not the same. The panel that I used in the 06's is for the heated seats. I am no where close to hitting in in any way. Also that is why after I start the car I just place the left switch up and cuts power to the button.
