You also have not addressed what David has said about the fact that he ordered on the 12th and supposedly was told that it would ship on the 13th.

I think the responses desired here go something like this (repeat after me):
"Yes, I told you it was in stock, and indeed it was, and that it would ship the 13th. I perhaps should have mentioned that it was going to be drop-shipped from another shop I am closely associated with. The hood in fact did not ship from that location until the 18th, for which I have no excuse; I will take this up with said shop. Freight shipping via DHL takes approx. two weeks for delivery. I know this sucks and in the future I will be using another carrier with faster shipping. I apologize for not being able to provide a tracking number to you. This is another issue with DHL that I assure you I am as much frustrated about as you are. All I can do now is offer my apologies, ask for your continued patience and assure you that your hood will indeed arrive soon. I'm sorry I didn't reply to all of your PM's and if I did anything that gave you the impression I was trying to cheat you out of your money; I assure you this is not the case and I will do everything in my power to provide better customer service in the future."
From what I've read here, this explains everything and keeps it cool, clear and concise. It won't, however, get the hood there any sooner or get a tracking number from an uncooperative carrier. Bottom line is, there's nothing that can really be done at this point and the transaction has ended with an unsatisfied customer.

Just spoke to Jim. Said he took the money and blew it at the strip joint on Friday the 13th.
sorry, just tryin to lighten things up around here.
You guys really need to just settle this over the good ol' telephone. Hear the man out Jim, he's just a little pissed. Nobody thinks you're a theif, you just needed to have made the man feel more comfortable by getting a tracking number for the man. I knwo you said you've been trying, but hey, if you can't get a tracking number from DHL for this long, you need to file a serious complaint with someone there. Something is missing from that side of the story, but whatever.
You guys just settle this over the phone, or we going to have to send you two to Judge Judy.

Sometimes these things need to be aired, espectially when dealing with a small operation. The principle of the company has to wear many hats and can easily get caught up in the day to day and not see problems developing.
In todays world, items are routeenly dropped shipped. This is a acceptable method of doing business. Its the communication between multiple vendors and the customer that will fail.
This vendor has consistently provided product and at a discount. Perhaps now that you understand how businesses operate (large and small) alike, you could be a bit more understanding of the logistics involved and the possible delay. It is normal for a vendor to say its in stock, if he knows its going to be dropped immediately. (its in stock in one of my warehouses).

as a customer, we all want our stuff as quickly and cheapest as possible. as a vendor, we want to make both a profit and the customer happy.
as a customer:
when i order something & the vendor says it's in stock, i trust that they have it in their stockroom. if they don't, then they should not be stating that. there are times that i ordered something in stock and chose expedited shipping and it still took a week. was i pissed off, yeah. did i tell the manager, yeah. it's not acceptable to be quoted X amount of days and get it in XYZ days. as for tracking numbers, i would have called if one was promised but wasn't issued within 24hrs.
as a vendor:
when a customer orders a part from us, if we have it in stock, we'll tell them it's in stock. if not, we tell them no, but we can get it in X amount of days. in business, attention to detail is EVERYTHING. customers, especially first timers, will appreciate that touch.
customers turn into repeat customers when they feel comfortable ordering & reordering from you. it's about the reassurance factor. eventually they turn into referrals as well.
well, back to the post. david & jim, all this could have been taken care of through private channels (ie direct phone calls).
good luck to both. if not, issue a refund & part ways.

I've had vendors in the past tell me it's not in stock but it can be dropped shipped from elsewhere and thats cool with me but there were a few misguided things said on Jims part that led me to believe differently, I'm in no way saying Jim is a bad guy whatsoever, I just want to know that my product is shipped when I'm told it will shipped so I can get online day or night and see the status of my package's whereabouts with a tracking no. I'm in no way wanting to discourage people from buying from him and I applaud the ones who stand behind him but in this unique situation I think after 19 days I've been reasonably patient.

Jim I take it you have an account with DHL correct?
I do as well and the tracking # is on the top right corner of the way bill slip, titled Way Bill no. try to get a hold of the person who actually filled out the paper work if it were not you and get the way bill #( tracking # )
I do have to agree with you about DHL's shady customer service, IT SUCKS!
most of the time you'll get an " oh well " out of them and nothing more.
Also has someone who has sold plenty of items here, eBay and other Z sites it is all ways good to keep you customers well informed even if you are repeating your messages over again. It give the customer a sense of awareness and great customer service.
I'm not telling you how to run your business don't get me wrong, just sharing my two cents as a customer & seller.

I'm just saying, I think he quoted up to 12 business days for shipping.
if that is so, at the long end today would be the day he got his hood if they are having problems.
If it shipped the 18th, next monday would be the last day. I really don't get the big deal. even if he did order it on friday, the shipper had until today for it to be delivered. you are throwing out 19 days, but that is calender. and you did order on a Friday (if my dates are correct) which gives you an automatic 2 day addition to your time frame. it's only been 12 business days and no hood. which sucks, but isn't abnormal.
I can't even remember how long it took for my body kit to come here.
I agree the reasoning for it not being shipped out until the 18th has NOT been answered by anyone and that is really the only issue I see at this point that hasn't been answered.
and I am not tryingto flame anyone, so put the cannons away David and carbon
