Because he is asking for everyones opinion. I don't see what is wrong with that. You don't need to be quite so hostile.

XBS,

You know my take on it, I think you gotta throw some little red "hints" somewhere else on the car. Of course, I'm still waiting to see your car in person - pictures always seem to change the color & the presentation. I still say paint that blue cap on the left red, and do the red grounding wires. I think that'd look bitchin. Also, any word on getting that strut bar polished? I'm actually starting to think that might be a nice mod for mine (silverstone).

As always dude, sweet work. Look forward to seeing your car sometime soon during one of our socali meets!

Peace.

XBS,
I totally agree with dczoner about the washer cap, the problem is...
My engine pieces went in today to get painted red. I asked the paint guy about painting the blue washer cap and he said, that type of plastic was impossible to get paint to stick to. That the paint would begin peeling off soon after.
He said he had seen yellow plastic covers and would try to locate one for me. I think the yellow would be better than the blue and definately better than a red one with blue showing through.
Otherwise I am going to order another blue one and do some experimenting with painting it.
Can't wait until tomorrow to get my Z put back together.

PPW Rules!

Hmmm, here's what I would do. Pretty much every plastic has a different porosity, or a tendancy to absorb paint. I'd say the trick on the blue cap is to sand the hell out of it, and then apply the paint on to the rougher surface. You might lose detail on the top, but in the end it ought to work. Other options can also be to take that cap to a plastics shop and have them form a new cap in a different color. That option might be a little more expensive but would get the same results. I just can't stand the blue! Lol.

Good luck.

i am going to sand it/clean it with the sand paper type material that the body shop i work with uses to clean things before they paint then i will spray a primer made for plastics and then after its dry the red with some clear coat and i will be set it will cost me 30$ to do since the cans are 9 something since they are special for plastics (they wont chip off over time )

Exquisite taste!

2 people in my area have bought PPW Z’s since I got mine (both automatics so they have different wheels) so I have put a small stripe on mine. Can’t have anyone confusing me with someone else. Individualism!

Be sure to let us know how the paint job goes. (Don't forget to paint both sides of the strap since you can see the back when it is installed.)
I’ll post pic’s of mine tonight if I can get to it.

i like the painted strt tower bar. IMO i would have done the accent peices you did in red the same color as the car. it would have brought out the color so much more
