Just saw this and thought I would set it straight. LED's don't burn at all. LED's themselves make very very little heat unless you are driving them upwards of 300mA or more. For these leds, heat will never be an issue.

If you can fit a 50mm X 35 mm size clearence, then it will fit. I also have in 27mm X27 mm. Can work with other places.

Quick question, do these work with the switch set to turn on the lights when the door is opened (or if the unlock button is hit)? Will they burn out if used this way?

My girl just gave me a set she purchased from this thread for christmas for me. They look sweet, had to turn them on an angle to get them in right but BIG difference.
